OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh Titans fell to the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds in a hard fought 1-0 defeat at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium on Saturday (Oct. 19). The closely contested WIAC matchup saw UW-Eau Claire claim victory with a second-half goal.

The Blugolds shot 17 times (seven on goal) to the Titans' five shots (two on goal) and led 3-1 in corner kicks.

Emma Sauriol (Sr. • New Lenox, Ill.) delivered a solid performance for UW-Oshkosh, making six key saves to keep the Titans in the match. Offensively,
Greta Steines (Jr. • Eau Claire) and
Jaden LeRoy (Fr. • Evansville) each registered a shot on goal. Steines' shot on goal was on the Titans' first penalty kick of the season.

After a scoreless first half, the Blugolds found the breakthrough in the 61st minute when Anna Lorenzana scored the match's only goal, assisted by Caroline Curran. Despite several attempts, the Titans were unable to find the back of the net.

With the loss, the Titans drop to 2-10-2 on the season and 1-3-0 in WIAC play. UW-Oshkosh will look to bounce back in its next match on Wednesday (Oct. 23), when it takes on UW-Stevens Point at the Point Soccer Bowl at 7:30 p.m.
