OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh Titans women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to the UW-Whitewater Warhawks on its home court Saturday (Oct. 19).

In doubles play, the Titans' duo of
Olivia Pethan (So. • Oshkosh) and
Alysa Pattee (Sr. • Waupun) battled, but fell to Gracie Ha and Abby Weaver, 8-2, at the No. 1 spot. UW-Whitewater's Molly Asfeld and Alex Repplier secured an 8-1 victory over UW-Oshkosh's
Mana Usui (Fr. • Franklin) and
Kayla Gibbs (So. • Muskego) at the No. 2 position, while Crystina Lee and Ava Andrae of the Warhawks completed the doubles sweep with an 8-3 win over
Brianna Owens (Fr. • Appleton) and
Courtney Carpenter (Jr. • Oshkosh) at No. 3 doubles.

On the singles side, Pethan was edged by Ha at the top spot, 6-1, 6-2. At No. 2 singles, Usui put up a strong effort, but ultimately lost to Asfeld, 7-5, 6-3. The Warhawks took the remaining singles matches with Weaver defeating Pattee, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, Repplier besting Gibbs, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4, Sarah Ferguson topping Owens, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5, and Lee cruising past
Vianna Dao (Fr. • Oshkosh), 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.

The Titans return to action next weekend (Oct. 26-27) at the WIAC Championship, hosted by UW-River Falls at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison. Matches are set to begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday.
