Box Score MADISON, Wis.-Â The UW-Oshkosh tennis team traveled to Madison on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 25-26)Â to compete at the WIAC Championship (Presented by Culver's), hosted by UW-River Falls at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Titans finished in fifth place with 10 points. UW-Whitewater won the team title with 20 overall points.
The 2024 WIAC Championship combined regular-season dual-meet standings and WIAC championship performance to decide the overall team title. Regular-season standings contributed one-third, while conference championships accounted for the remaining two-thirds.
In the No. 1 singles bracket,
Mana Usui (Fr. • Franklin) finished in fourth place. She defeated Tristin Jantz of Stevens Point 6-2, 6-1 in the opening round.
Alysa Pattee (Sr. • Waupun) finished fifth in the No. 2 singles bracket, defeating Alexis Budzinski of River Falls 6-3, 6-4.
Kayla Gibbs (So. • Muskego) also finished fifth, competing in the No. 3 singles bracket. She defeated Ella Lamppa of Stout 6-1, 6-1.
Brianna Owens (Fr. • Appleton) finished fourth in the No. 4 singles bracket, defeating Jordan Scharf of Stevens Point in the first round 6-4, 6-7 (7-4), 10-7.
Vianna Dao (Fr. • Oshkosh) finished in sixth place in the No. 5 singles bracket.
Courtney Carpenter (Jr. • Oshkosh) picked up a fourth place finish in the No. 6 singles bracket, defeating Morgan Milan of Stevens Point in the first round 6-2, 6-3.
In the top doubles bracket, the team of
Olivia Pethan (So. • Oshkosh) and Pattee finished in sixth place. Gibbs and Usui finished in third place in the No. 2 doubles bracket. They picked up wins over Sydney Wiener and Sarah Baker from River Falls (8-3), and Morgan Dekan and Liv Herzog from Eau Claire (8-7, 7-5). Carpenter and Owens finished in fifth in the No. 3 doubles bracket, defeating Hailey Reuvers and Mykela Hanson of River Falls 8-2.
