OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's volleyball team wrapped up a two-day home triangular on Saturday (Oct. 5) with a 3-0 win over Carroll University.

Oshkosh won by scores of 25-13, 25-14 and 25-15. The Titans (16-4, 2-1 WIAC) are now 12-0 against the Pioneers (17-6, 1-2 CCIW) since 1993, last losing in Waukesha on Sept. 9, 1992, by set scores of 3-1.

UW-Oshkosh held a lead in all major statistical categories, recording 38 kills, 35 assists, nine aces, seven blocks, and 58 digs. The Titans passed a .200 hitting percentage, hitting .325 in set two and .219 in set three, while holding the Pioneers under .030 in all three sets.

Sami Perlberg (So. • Chippewa Falls) hit 11 kills on 32 attempts, acquiring a .250 hitting percentage.
Riley Kindt (Fifth • Brookfield) and
Hannah Moe (Jr. • Oconto) each attacked 18 times with Kindt recording eight kills and Moe registering seven. Kindt also recorded five blocks.
Olivia Breunig (Sr. • Sauk Prairie) hit .714 by having five kills on seven attempts.

Kalli Mau (Fifth • Kimberly) and
Izzy Coon (Jr. • Fond du Lac) each surpassed 10 kills at 13 and 12 and Coon had five aces.
Abby Fregien (Sr. • Waukesha) tallied 22 digs in the contest.

The Pioneers lost 3-1 to UW-Stout in the first match of the day before facing off with the Titans.

UW-Oshkosh scored the first nine points of the first set.
Lauren Grier (So. • Fond du Lac) registered the first kill, getting the serve for the Titans. Fregien then served up eight points that included an ace, a Perlberg kill, a block by Kindt and Perlberg and a kill by Breunig. A later 8-0 spurt gave Oshkosh a 20-5 edge and Breunig's kill won the set after Carroll went on a 4-point run.

The Pioneers scored twice to open set two, leading until five Oshkosh points made the score 5-2. Carroll led as late as 11-10, but Oshkosh scored five points, making the score 15-11.

The Titans never trailed again.

They extended their lead on a 4-0 run and followed a Carroll kill by scoring six more points, winning the set.

Oshkosh scored first in the third set, extending its lead on three runs of four points, eventually leading 21-11. The Pioneers kept scoring one point at a time until a Coon skip set scored the final point.

The Titans will face Lawrence University (6-14, 1-1 MWC) at home on Tuesday (Oct. 8) at 7 p.m. Tuesday is also Parent and Senior Night.
