KENOSHA, Wis.- In the first two days of the 3-day Carthage College Classic, two UW-Oshkosh women's swimming & diving records were broken.

The Titans are currently third of the seven teams in the meet with 453 points. The third day of competition begins Saturday (Dec. 7) at 9 a.m.

The records fell in the 200-yard individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle.
Francesca Schiro (Sr. • New Glarus) broke
Cadence Showalter's (Sr. • Naperville, Ill.) 2023 WIAC Championship mark of 2:12.40 in the individual medley with a 2:10.20 finish, then bested it again with a 2:09.99 for second in the final round. In the 500-yard freestyle, she swam a time of 5:12.27, then won the final round with a 5:12.87.

Joining Schiro in the top-8 in the 500-yard freestyle were Showalter in second (5:13.76) and
Brianna Wesenberg (Jr. • Ripon) in eighth (5:26.19).

Sienna Della-Peruta (So. • Manhattan, Ill.),
Bee Ecklund (So. • Elgin, Ill.), and
Grace Fergus (Sr. • Sugar Grove, Ill.) collected podium finishes in the 200-yard backstroke in first (2:09.10), fourth (2:13.32), and seventh (2:15.51) respectively.

The 800-yard freestyle relay squad of Schiro, Showalter,
Rowan Sinclair (Fr. • Temecula, Calif.), and Wesenberg won the event in 7:50.80.

Schiro and Wesenberg swam first for relay teams that grabbed second and eighth in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Kori Burnett (Fr. • Beloit), Sinclair, and Showalter joined Schiro for second in 1:39.35, and
Elsa Piering (Fr. • Hartland),
Julie Innerebner (So. • Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.), and
Kylee Dinninger (So. • DeWitt, Mich.) raced with Wesenberg for eighth at 1:45.08.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Showalter finished the event in 54.73 seconds for fourth place and Burnett took seventh in 55.34 seconds.

Wesenberg finished fourth in the 1,650-yard freestyle in a time of 18:35.56.

Della-Peruta, Showalter, Sinclair, and Schiro were the top Titan squad in the 400-yard medley relay, finishing fourth in 4:04.47.
Payton Purdy (Fr. • Sterling, Ill.), Dinninger, Fergus, and Piering swam a 4:15.51 for seventh.

Fergus placed seventh, with a 1:00.87 time, in the 100-yard butterfly.
