OSHKOSH, Wis.-Â On Friday and Saturday (Dec. 6-7), the UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team hosted its Early Bird Invitational/Multi. The Titans won the eight team meet with 339 points.
Joshua Rivers (Jr. • Bolingbrook, Ill.) highlighted the meet with the first long jump mark over eight meters in NCAA Division III history, jumping 8.13 meters.
Caleb Wright (Jr. • Oswego, Ill.) took second in the event, jumping 7.24 meters, claiming sole possession of the fifth-furthest jump in program history.Â
Sochim Ozoh (Fr. • Homewood, Ill.) took third with a 7.11-meter mark,
Kyle Wisniewski (So. • New London) took fourth at 6.68 meters, and
Cameron McAndrews (Fr. • West Bend) finished with a sixth-place distance of 6.53 meters.
Aden Sears (Sr. • Eureka, Ill.) won the 2-day heptathlon in a score of 5,243 points to kick off the meet.
Cavan Dobberstein (So. • Manawa) came in third with 4,994 points, moving from seventh to sixth on the program's honor roll.Â
Payton White (Fifth Year • Berrien Springs, Mich.) and
Christian Thompson (Fr. • Milwaukee) took fourth and fifth with totals of 4,831 and 4,790 points respectively. Thompson is now ninth in program history.
In the first track event of the day,
Cameron Cullen (Jr. • Kewaunee) won the 3,000-meter run in a time of 8:41.19.
Trent Chadwick (Jr. •  Poynette) came in second in 8:45.09,
John Thill (Jr. • Oshkosh) came in third in 8:59.24, and
Aaron Nehls (Fr. • Fredonia) ran a 9:14.13 for fourth.
Tyran Bender (Fr. • Bourbonnais, Ill.) won the 400-meter dash in a facility record of 48.50 seconds, the third-fastest time in Titans history.
Daniel Wilson (Fr. • Sun Prairie) followed in second at 50.45 seconds and
Weston Lerdal (Sr. • Neenah) grabbed fourth with a 50.91-second finish.
In the mile run,
Jason Skinkis (So. • Seymour) won in 4:29.43.
Bennett Midthun (Fr. • Fond du Lac) followed in second with 4:33.41.
Brady Larson (Fr. • Maroa, Ill.) won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.46 seconds and
Will Herbst (Fr. • Dubuque, Iowa) took third in 9.06 seconds.
Davian Willems (Jr. • De Pere) won the 60-meter dash in 6.77 seconds and
Danny Vinson (Fifth Year • Berrien Spring, Mich.) took third in 6.84 seconds.
Eddie Jones (Fr. • Waukesha) and
Daijion Riley (Fr. • Wheaton, Ill.) rounded out the top-7 with times of 6.94 and 9.36 seconds.
Dwight Hosni (Sr. • Cedarburg) took second in the 800-meter run in 1:54.28. He was joined in fourth by
Lucas Nicholson (So. • Pewaukee) at 1:55.16, sixth by
Xavier Lasee (Grad. • North Fond du Lac) at 1:57.03, seventh by
Nick Vey (Sr. • Oshkosh) at 1:57.95, and eighth by
Colin Smith (Fr. • Pardeeville) at 1:57.98.
The UW-Oshkosh 200-meter dash record holder,
Londyn Little (Sr. • Columbia, Ill.) won the event in 21.77 seconds. Rivers took second in 22.24 seconds, followed by
Matthew Eiden (So. • Stevens Point) in fourth at 22.56 seconds,
Daniel Wilson (Fr. • Sun Prairie) in fifth at 22.63, Wright in sixth at 22.82, and
Henry Kennedy (Fr. • Carpentersville, Ill.) in seventh at 22.84.
In the final event on the track, UW-Oshkosh 4x400-meter relay squads finished third and fourth with 3:28.94 and 3:36.13 times respectively.
In the first of the remaining field events,
Caleb Cornelius (Sr. • Racine) took second in the high jump with 2.01 meters. Wisniewski took third at 1.91 meters, McAndrews took fourth at 1.86 meters, and
Kendrick Cyracus (Jr. • Plainfield, Ill.) took fifth at 1.81 meters.
Zach Zirgibel (Sr. • Merton) won the pole vault with a best height of 4.75 meters, and
Ethan Pinkerton (Fr. • Oshkosh) took second with 4.43 meters.
Eathan Lund (Fr. • Hortonville) finished fourth at 4.28 meters and
Owen Kuhne (Fr. • Madison) sixth at 4.13 meters.
Wright won the triple jump with a 13.95-meter jump and
Max Milbrath (Fr. • Pecatonia, Ill.) jumped 13.80 meters for second.
Bryce Hale (So. • Kimberly) won the 35-lb. weight throw by throwing 16.55 meters, with
Steven Wauer (Jr. • Muskego) coming in second with 16.06.
Kieran Maude (Jr. • Palatine, Ill.) grabbed fifth,
Jacob Fritsch (Jr. • Little Chute) sixth and
Jack Wellhoefer (Fr. • Omro) eighth.
In the shot put, Maude led the Titans with a second place throw of 15.44 meters and
Cameron Bendixen (Jr. • DeForest) took third with 15.19 meters. Fritsch tossed 14.02 meters for fourth and Wellhoefer 13.72 meters for sixth.
The Titans will return in January for the UW-Oshkosh Alumni Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 18, held at Kolf Sports Center.
