OSHKOSH, Wis.- Ariana Gonzalez (Appleton/Appleton North) scored her fourth goal of the season in the 16th minute of UW-Oshkosh women's soccer's home game against UW-Stout on Saturday (Oct. 11). The Blue Devils responded with a pair of second-half goals to win, 2-1.

The Titans (4-4-4, 0-2-1 WIAC) shot a total of 19 times on Saturday against Stout's (7-4-3, 1-0-2 WIAC) 14. Eight of the Blue Devils' shots were on goal while Oshkosh had five shots on goal. UW-Oshkosh allowed zero Stout corner kicks and earned four of its own.

Of Gonzalez's three total shots, two were on goal. The junior midfielder passed
Jaden LeRoy (Evansville/Evansville) for the most points on the team this year.
Greta Steines (Eau Claire/Eau Claire Memorial) shot four times, Alex Schorr three, and Addyson Eddwards twice. All three recorded a shot on goal in the contest.

Mallory Kerhin (Green Bay/Green Bay Southwest) faced seven shots and registered five saves.

Following UW-Oshkosh's first corner of the match, Gonzalez attempted her first shot on goal at 8:17 and Stout's goalkeeper. Seven minutes later, she received the ball from
Ryley Meenk (Waukesha/Waukesha South) 30 yards out with her back to the goal. She then kicked the ball to the upper right corner of the net to give UW-Oshkosh an early 1-0 lead.

Maddie Daigle (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy) came the closest to making the score 2-0 in favor of UW-Oshkosh in the first half, booting the ball off the top woodwork in the 29th minute.

The Blue Devils tied the match six minutes into the second half and scored what would be the go-ahead goal in the 63rd minute. Steines put her shot on goal in the 62nd minute, Schorr recorded hers in the 70th minute, and Edwards nearly tied the score late with a shot to the bottom center of the goal in the 81st minute.

The Titans will host Carroll University (5-3-4, 2-2-1 CCIW) on Wednesday (Oct. 15) at 7 p.m. In seven all-time matchups between the programs, Oshkosh is 5-2 dating back to the 2004 season and has won each of the last three games.
