OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's tennis faced UW-Stevens Point at its home courts on Saturday (Oct. 11). The Pointers won eight of the nine matches for a 6-1 win.

Olivia Pethan (Oshkosh/Fox Valley Lutheran) and
Courtney Carpenter (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) sent the No. 1 doubles to extra points and were tied with Tristin Jantz and Ellie Aitken as late as 6-6, but the Pointer partners took the match, 7-6.

Kayla Gibbs (Muskego/Muskego) and
Jameson Gregory (Delavan/Big Foot) lost, 6-2, in the No. 2 doubles and
Mana Usui (Franklin/Franklin) and
Sarah Schaeffer (Rock Springs/Reedsburg) were defeated, 6-3, at the No. 3 doubles match.

Bre Schultz (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) posted the Titans sole win of the day with a 7-6, 7-5 victory over Aitken in the No. 4 singles flight.

Usui forced extra games against an undefeated Chloe Regal in the No. 1 singles match, however she eventually fell, 7-6, in the first set and was defeated, 6-4, in the second.

Gibbs,
Brianna Owens (Appleton/Kimberly) and Schaeffer each won a set at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 singles, respectively, while
Cate Gerl (Joliet, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) was shutout in the fifth flight.

The Titans will face UW-La Crosse (7-0, 5-0 WIAC) in a rescheduled match on Tuesday (Oct. 14) at the Eagles' Green Island Tennis Park at 3:30 p.m. La Crosse secured at least a share of the WIAC regular season championship on Friday (Oct. 10) with a 2-0 win over UW-Eau Claire.
