Titans Earn Nine Top-Five Finishes At Wisconsin Showcase

Paige Vitek took second in the 1-meter diving and fifth in the 3-meter diving on Saturday

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis./KENOSHA, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's swimming and diving team competed at the Wisconsin Showcase Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 18). While the event was non-scoring, Oshkosh earned three top-five finishes in individual swimming events and two top-five finishes in team swimming events. In diving, the Titans had four top-five finishes.
 
Due to ongoing updates at Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, the diving events were held at the Racine Unified School District Aquatic Center in Mount Pleasant, and the swimming events were held at Carthage College's Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha.
 
In relay events, the team of Sienna Della-Peruta (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake Central), Bella Cichon (Manhattan, Ill./Lincoln-Way West), Rowan Sinclair (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak), and Kori Burnett (Beloit/Beloit Memorial) took fourth in the 200-yard medley relay with a final time of 1:55.75. The other top-four finish team consisting of Burnett, Olivia Pellitteri (Madison/Vel Phillips Memorial), Kacie Stamm (Neenah/Neenah), and Callee DeBruin (Kimberly/Seton Home Study School) finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a final time of 1:45.79.
 
In individual swimming events, Sinclair placed fourth in the 200-yard butterfly with a final time of 2:19.43, Millie Belik (La Vista, Neb./Papillion La Vista) took fourth in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:45.68, and DeBruin finished fifth in the 100-yard freestyle in 56 seconds flat.
 
In 1-meter diving, Paige Vitek (Raymond/Union Grove) came in second with a score of 197.63. She was followed by teammate, Maya Indiraraj (West Bend/West Bend West), who placed third and earned 194.40 points. In 3-meter diving, Indiraraj placed third with a score of 199.95. Vitek took fifth with a score of 160.88.
 
The Titans are scheduled to be back in the water on Saturday, October 25 at Albee Hall & Pool for Parents Day, as they face the Carroll University Pioneers.
