RIVER FALLS, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's tennis wrapped up its fall campaign on Sunday (Oct. 19), defeating UW-River Falls, 5-2, at the Falcons' Ramer Field Tennis Courts.

The Titans (6-4, 2-4 WIAC) moved to 31-14 all-time against the Falcons (2-11, 1-5 WIAC) and extended their current winning streak to four matches. They won the doubles point by taking all three doubles matches and took four of the six singles matches.

It took
Olivia Pethan (Oshkosh/Fox Valley Lutheran) and
Courtney Carpenter (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) extra games to take the No. 1 doubles flight, but the pair defeated Sydney Weiner and Sarah Baker, 7-5. In the second doubles flight,
Kayla Gibbs (Muskego/Muskego) and
Jameson Gregory (Delavan/Big Foot) won over their Falcon opponents, 6-3, while
Mana Usui (Franklin/Franklin) and
Sarah Schaeffer (Rock Springs/Reedsburg) posted a 6-0 shutout at No. 3, their second of the year.

Usui started singles play with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Brooke Lindeman at the No. 1 flight.

In the No. 3 and No. 4 flights,
Brianna Owens (Appleton/Kimberly) and
Bre Schultz (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) won by matching scores of 7-5, 6-1, respectively.

Schaeffer rounded out Oshkosh's singles wins with a 6-2, 6-1 sixth flight win over Emma Yanish.

At No. 2 singles,
Kayla Gibbs (Muskego/Muskego) won set two, 6-2, after dropping the first by an inverted score, but fell in the tiebreaker set as River Falls earned its first point. The Falcons recorded their second point at No. 5 doubles with a 6-3, 6-1 win over
Cate Gerl (Joliet, Ill./Lincoln-Way West).

The Titans will compete in the Wisconsin Collegiate Individual Championships at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison on Sunday, October 11. The championships take the place of the WIAC Individual Championship that was historically held in the fall. The league moved to a team tournament-only format for the 2025-26 season.

UW-La Crosse will host the 2026 WIAC Team Tournament as the No. 1 seed in the conference and UW-Oshkosh will compete at the sixth seed.
