LA CROSSE, Wis.- UW-La Crosse held the UW-Oshkosh football team to a season-low 13 points at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex on Saturday (Oct. 25), winning 44-13.

The No. 12/12 nationally ranked Eagles (5-1, 3-1 WIAC) recorded five sacks, induced seven punts, forced a turnover on downs, and scored a safety in the contest, while the No. 18/24 Titans (4-2, 2-2 WIAC) got them to punt three times, intercepted a pass, recovered a fumble, and forced a turnover on downs.

Offensively, UW-Oshkosh scored on both of its field goal attempts and added a fourth quarter touchdown against UW-La Crosse's six touchdowns.

While the Titans used three quarterbacks on Saturday afternoon,
Quentin Keene (Waunakee/Waunakee) played under center the most, completing 17 of his 29 passing attempts for 167 yards and a touchdown while being sacked three times.
Will Brust (Greendale/Greendale) went 2-for-3 with 15 yards and
AJ Korth (Menasha/Menasha) completed his only passing attempt for 10 yards.

Ben Vallafskey (Appleton/Appleton West) led Oshkosh's rushing attack that totaled 79 yards with 66 yards on 14 attempts. Korth recorded 21 yards on three rushes.

Jackson Brush (Franktown, Colo./Legend) scored a touchdown on 73 receiving yards with six catches, followed by 25 yards for
Brayden Reimer (Two Rivers/Roncalli Catholic) and 23 yards for
Gabe Munoz (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap).

Ben Wellhoefer (Omro/Omro) led Oshkosh's defense with eight tackles (four solo) while
Trevor Bahrs (Evansville/Evansville) intercepted Eagle quarterback Kyle Haas and
Dayshawn Henry (Oshkosh/Oshkosh North) put pressure on the La Crosse offense twice.
Jacob Buck (Jackson/Kettle Moraine Lutheran) forced a fumble, and
Eli Curry (Geneva, Ill./Geneva Community) recovered the ball.

John Abernathy (Valdese, N.C./Draughn) punted seven times for 270 yards and
Axel Vera Trejo (Appleton/Appleton East) connected on a pair of field goals and a point-after attempt.

The Eagles received the opening kickoff and scored 1:38 later.

Following back-to-back-to-back punts, La Crosse started its third drive with a 2-yard rush. After an incomplete pass that
Curtis Jaskulke (Stoughton/Stoughton) hurried Haas on, Bahrs grabbed the ball out of the air when
Kellen Wright (West Salem/West Salem) tipped it to him. Oshkosh marched down the field before getting tied up at the Eagles' 21 and settling for a 38-yard field goal by Vera Trejo.

La Crosse added another touchdown and forced a turnover on downs before the quarter ended.

In the second quarter, the Eagles scored on a 6-yard pass and a 1-yard rush to lead by as much as 25 points.

The Titans took control of the ball for the final time in the half with 1:04 left on the clock.
Doug Burson (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville) and
Jackson Brush (Franktown, Colo./Legend) caught three double-digit yard passes to help Oshkosh downfield, and Vera Trejo hit a 23-yard field goal as time expired to make the score 28-6.

Neither team reached the 50-yard line in the first three possessions of the third quarter, however La Crosse made the score 35-6 with 5:39 left in the period on a 19-yard passing touchdown and followed a punt by Abernathy with another 7-point drive.

Oshkosh took control of the ball at the tail end of the third quarter and took five plays into the fourth to score when Keene connected with Brush in the end zone for a 24-yard touchdown, decreasing the deficit to 42-13.

Buck forced Eagle running back Kyle Lynch to fumble the ball at Oshkosh's 3-yard line and Curry took the ball back to the 16 to get the Titans the ball back. The Eagle's defense broke up a pass, sacked Keene and earned a safety across the following three plays to make the score 44-13.

La Crosse turned the ball over on downs at the Titans' 40-yard line with 2:27 to play, but the Titans were kept out of the end zone down the stretch.

The Titans will head back on the road on Saturday, November 1 to face No. 8/9 UW-Platteville at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium at 1 p.m. The Titans are 55-49-4 all time against the Pioneers and 9-1 in the last 10 matchups.
