GREEN LAKE, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's cross country team scored a perfect 15 points at the Ripon College Red Hawk Open on Thursday (Nov. 6). The Titans were highlighted with a win by
Ashley Groothoff (Two Rivers/Two Rivers), who completed the course in 24:27.
Rylee Hucke (Johnson Creek/Johnson Creek) had a personal record of 25:22 to place second in the meet. Right behind her was
Josie Makurat (Fairfax, Va./Woodson), who ran a 25:26 for third place.
Athena Soto (Whitewater/Whitewater) also set a personal record, completing the course in 25:31, which was good for fifth place. The final points scorer for the Titans was
Ella Galaszewski (West Allis/Nathan Hale), took sixth in 25:54.
Leah Modjeski (Sparta/Sparta) was sixth for the Titans. She finished in 26:05 and placed seventh. Annie Jessie was right behind her, finishing in eighth place in a time of 26:29.
Anabel Mitchell (Oshkosh/Oshkosh North) was the eighth Titan in the top ten, running a time of 26:53 in her tenth place finish.
The Titans return to the course on Saturday, November 15 for the NCAA Division III North Regional Championship in Colfax. They will be racing to qualify the team or individuals for the Division III Championship.
