KENOSHA, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh Titans finished the three-day Carthage College Classic with three new program records and a third place overall finish.
 
All three records were broken by freshman Callee DeBruin (Kimberly/Seton Home Study School) in the 500-, 1,000-, and 1,650-yard freestyles. DeBruin's 1,650-yard freestyle, which she finished in first with a time of 17:50.25, smashed the record of 18:00.05 set in 2005 by Carrie Heitzler. In the same race, DeBruin also claimed the 1,000-yard freestyle record with her split of 10:45.64, which broke Mariah Marowsky's 2019 record of 10:50.29.
 
The third record broken by DeBruin was the 500-yard freestyle where she broke the record set by Francesca Shiro (5:12.27) at the Carthage Classic just last year. DeBruin finished the race in first and took the record with a time of 5:11.54.
 
Joining DeBruin in the 500- and 1650-yard freestyles, Brianna Wesenberg (Ripon/Homeschool) took fourth with a time of 5:25.37 and sixth with a time of 18:46.20 in the respective events.
 
Sienna Della-Peruta (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake Central) claimed a first-place finish for the Titans in the 200-yard backstroke, coming in with a time of 2:06.35, as well as an eighth place finish in the 200-yard individual medley (2:19.19).
 
Rowan Sinclair (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) took third in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 1:01.23. Kori Burnett (Beloit/Beloit Memorial) joined her in the event and secured a seventh place finish with a time of 1:06.49.
 
Burnett also swam the 100-yard freestyle where she took sixth place with a time of 55.55. Kacie Stamm (Neenah/Neenah) followed just behind, fishing in seventh with a 55.56.
 
Also with top eight finishes for the Titans, McKenna Keepers (Sussex/Sussex Hamilton) took eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:38.16 and Rachel Werth (Greenfield/Greenfield) swam the 200-yard backstroke in 2:17.50, taking seventh.
 
The relay team consisting of Wesenberg, Sinclair, Oliva Pellitteri, and DeBruin took fourth in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a final time of 8:06.28 with the team of Millie Belik (La Vista, Neb./Papillion La Vista), Della-Peruta, Werth, and Elsa Piering (Hartland/Arrowhead Union) taking fifth (8:18.47).
 
In the 400-yard medley relay, Della-Peruta, Keepers, Burnett, and DeBruin secured fourth (4:06.50) and Werth, Ashley Celentano (Cary, Ill./Prairie Ridge), Stamm, and Piering took eight (4:20.49).
 
In the last event on Friday (Dec. 5) Burnett, Kylee Dinninger (DeWitt, Mich./DeWitt), Stamm, and Piering took fourth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:43.16. The team of Della-Peruta, Wesenberg, Belik, and Pellitteri took eight with a 1:46.03.
 
Della-Peruta secured the Titans their only first place finish in Saturday's (Dec. 6) last day of the swimming competition in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.51, winning the event by over one second.
 
Sinclair finished out the competition with a second place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:11.99 and third in the 400-yard individual medley with a 4:47.70. Millie Belik (La Vista, Neb./Papillion La Vista) swam with Sinclair in the 200-yard butterfly and took seventh with a time of 2:23.83.
 
DeBruin swam the 200-yard freestyle in 1:55.84, taking second place for the Titans.
 
Burnett and Stamm both secured took eight finishes in the 50-yard freestyle taking second (24.93) and seventh (25.57) respectively.
 
Werth competed in the 100-yard backstroke and finished with a time of 1:04.26, gaining the Titans a sixth place spot.
 
For the 400-yard freestyle relay, DeBruin, Wesenberg, Burnett, and Stamm took second (3:39.99), with the team of Belik, Pellitteri, Dinninger, and Sinclair taking eight (3:51.23).
 
In the 200-yard medley relay, Della-Peruta, Keepers, Burnett, and DeBruin secured the fourth place spot with a time of 1:53.94. The Titans also took seventh place with the team of Werth, Celentano, Stamm, and Dinninger (1:57.20).
 
Maya Indiraraj (West Bend/West Bend West) secured the first-place spots in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions. She finished with a total of 358.10 and 365.25 in the respective events.
 
Following Indiraraj, Paige Vitek (Raymond/Union Grove) took fourth on 1-meter with a score of 326.35 points and third on 3-meter finishing with a 334.05. Lexy Johnson (Kimberly/Kimberly) gained the Titans a fifth-place spot on 1-meter with a score of 280.00 points.
 
The women's team finished third out of six teams in the competition, ending with a final score of 896 points.
 
The Titans will return to the Koenitzer Aquatic Center at Carthage College to continue their competition schedule on Saturday, January 10 at 1 p.m.
