SAUGET, Ill.- The UW-Oshkosh baseball team took down the North Park on Sunday afternoon (March 2), 10-8. The day before, Oshkosh bested North Park, 11-6.

The Titans (2-2) were hitting well on Sunday as they recorded 12 hits. Oshkosh also swiped four bags. On the mound, three Titan pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts on the day.

Zach Taylor (Grad. • Long Grove, Ill.) had himself a day at the dish, going 3-for-4, knocking in a run and scoring three runs of his own. Catcher
Jack McNamara (Jr. • La Grange, Ill.) also helped the Titan offense, going 2-for-4.
Chris Callas (So. • Mundelein, Ill.) added two hits for Oshkosh, going 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs and a run scored.

North Park opened the scoring in the first inning, earning a run after an infield groundout.

The Titans answered in the fourth after Taylor singled into left. Oshkosh added another in the inning on a groundout to short.

Oshkosh tallied a pair of runs sixth inning on a ground out to first and a Callas single, bringing the score to 4-1.

The Vikings answered by driving in four runs in the sixth and seventh innings. The Titans then added six in the eighth and ninth, heading into the final half inning up, 10-5. North Park attempted to mount a comeback by scoring three runs, but it was not enough, and the Titans took down the Vikings, 10-8.Â

The Titans are scheduled to play Keystone College (Pa.) in their first game of the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational in Auburndale, Fla. at Lake Myrtle Sports Park at 11:30 p.m. central time on Thursday (March 6). Oshkosh and the Giants have not met before.
