Titans Allow One Run In Win Over Giants

AUBURNDALE, Fla.- The UW-Oshkosh baseball team traveled to Auburndale, Florida for the first of four games in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational on Thursday (March 6). The Titans faced off against Keystone College (Pa.), where the Titans won 9-1.

The Titans scored their nine runs on ten hits including three extra base hits. Keystone scored one run on four hits with two errors.

Jack McNamara (Jr. •  La Grange, Ill.) scored the first run for the Titans on an RBI single from Nick Shiu (Sr. •  Gurnee, Ill.) in the top of the first inning. Shiu and Jake Surane (Grad. • Lincolnshire, Ill.) both scored in the first as well on a reached-on-error by Carter Stebane (Sr. • Brillion). Shiu picked up another RBI in the second, scoring Owen Housinger (Jr. • Hawthorn Woods, Ill.). At his next at-bat in the top of the fourth, Housinger hit a home run to right field, making the score 5-0. The Titans added two more runs in the seventh on a single from Mason Kirchberg (Sr. • Deforest). The Titans sent their final two runs home in the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly from McNamara and a reached-on-error by Surane.
