WINTER HAVEN/AUBURNDALE, Fla.- UW-Oshkosh baseball concluded its four-game series in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational on Saturday and Sunday (March 8-9), defeating Saint Mary's University (Minn.) and Concordia Moorhead (Minn.).

On Saturday, the UW-Oshkosh baseball team defeated Saint Mary's (2-6), 6-2. The Titans scored six runs on 13 hits while the Cardinals recorded their two runs on four hits with two errors in the field.

Despite falling behind, 1-0 in the first inning,
Logan Schill (So. • Pewaukee) got the Titans on the board by knocking in
Carter Stebane (Sr. • Brillion) to tie the score in the second.

Brenden Max (Jr. • Libertyville, Ill.) gave the Titans the lead on an RBI single in the third, scoring
Jake Surane (Grad. • Lincolnshire, Ill.).

St. Mary's tied the game back up in the fourth inning, but the Titans claimed the lead again in the fifth on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch from
Zach Taylor (Grad. • Long Grove, Ill.).

In the seventh inning, Stebane extended the Titans' lead to 4-2 on an RB single which scored Max. The Titans added their final two runs in the ninth.
Jack McKellips (Jr. • Oshkosh) batted in Stebane on a groundout and
Owen Housinger (Jr. • Hawthorn Woods, Ill.) scored Taylor on an RBI double.

Josh Jansen (Jr. • DeForest) was the starter for the Titans on Saturday. He picked up his first win of the season, striking out 11 batters over seven innings, while allowing two runs on three hits.
Parker Thompson (Jr. • Wauwatosa) and
Cooper Kamlay (Fr. • Franklin) threw an inning each and both picked up a strikeout while allowing no runs. Max, Stebane, and Housinger all recorded three hit games at the plate. Max went 3-for-5 with an RBI and scored a run. Stebane went 3-for-4, scoring two runs and recording an RBI. Housinger went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI.

UW-Oshkosh ended its four-game trip to Florida with a walk-off victory over Concordia Moorhead on Sunday (March 9). The Titans scored their eight runs on 14 hits with one error, while the Cobbers scored their seven runs on eight hits with three errors.

Stebane got the Titans on the board in the bottom of the first, driving in Surane with an RBI single.
Aaron Davis (Fr. • Darien, Ill.) extended the Titans' lead in the bottom of the second two-RBI double. Housinger and McKellips scored on the play.

Concordia Moorhead got on the board in the top of the fourth on a two-RBI single to bring the score to 3-2 before adding five runs in the top of the sixth, leading 7-3 by the end of the frame.

The Titans started their comeback in the bottom of the sixth as Davis scored on a passed ball. After holding the Cobbers scoreless in the top of the seventh, the Titans added a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Zach Taylor drove in Stebane on a single, then scored on a single from McKellips.

In the bottom of the ninth, Taylor drove in Stebane for the second time on the day on a triple, tying the score at 7-7. Housinger then walked the game off when he sent Taylor home on a single.

Brett Gaynor (So. • Long Grove, Ill.) started on the mound for the Titans. He pitched five innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and striking out six.
Ryan Richter (Fr. • Waukesha) pitched the final 2.2 innings, not allowing a hit and striking out two.

At the plate, Stebane recorded four hits in five at bats, adding two runs. Taylor went 2-for-5 with a triple and scored two runs as well. Davis had two RBIs in his 2-for-4 day at the plate, including a double as well. Housinger went 2-for-5 with the walk-off single.

The Titans (6-2) will travel to Lexington, Ky. on Saturday (March 15) for games against the University of Chicago (Ill.) and Transylvania University (Ky.). They will then play their final out-of-state game of the regular season against Transylvania on Sunday (March 16).
