LA CROSSE, Wis.- It's become second nature for the UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics program by now. The Titans arrived in La Crosse with fourth consecutive conference championships on Saturday (March 8) and exited Mitchell Hall with their fifth straight WIAC/NCGA West Regional Championship trophy.
With 193.925 points, the Titans not only won the fifth straight conference title, but the 19th in program history. Only UW-La Crosse has more league titles at 24. UW-Oshkosh and UW-La Crosse (192.975 points) earned the WIAC's automatic bids to the NCGA Championship which will be held on Gustavus Adolphus College's (Minn.) campus in Saint Peter, Minn. on Saturday, March 22.
The Titans reached their team score with 48.475 points on the vault, 48.400 on the uneven bars, 48.175 on the balance beam, and 48.875 in the floor exercise. Two Titans won individual events as well.
Amaya McConkay (Jr. • Broken Arrow, Okla.) led UW-Oshkosh on the vault with a 9.775, good for a three-way tie for fifth place.
Mia Lucero (Sr. • Bolingbrook, Ill.) followed in eight place with a score of 9.750 points. In a tightly-contested event,
Reanna McGibboney's (Jr. • Chester Springs, Pa.) 9.700 landed outside the top-eight finishers.
McConkay defended UW-Oshkosh's uneven bars crown with a first-place score of 9.800 points.
Emily Buffington won the 2024 title with a meet and program record of 9.900 points. McGibboney claimed second in the event with a 9.750 while
Lydia Hayden (Jr. • Broomfield, Colo.) tied for fourth at 9.700 points.
Hayden scored a 9.725 on the balance beam, tying for fifth place.
Liz Romano (Sr. • Royersford, Pa.) followed in seventh at 9.700 points and
Delaney Cienkus (Sr. • Plainfield, Ill.) tied for eighth with a total of 9.675 points.
In the floor exercise,
Jay Ratkowski (So. • Franklin) won UW-Oshkosh its first conference title since 2003 with a tally of 9.825 points. Lucero, the 2024 NCGA champion in the event tied for second place with 9.800 points.
Aleah Radojevich (Sr. • Chicago, Ill.) and
Jurnee Warkentien (Chandler, Ariz.) each scored 9.775 points to take fourth. Cienkus and McGibboney added strong scores of 9.700 points, but much like the vault, were on the outside of the top eight finishers.
Between the first and second sessions, Cienkus was named the WIAC Kwik Trip Gymnast of the Year. She ranks first in the nation on the balance beam with an average of 9.653 points and a season high score of 9.825 which she tallied twice on the year. Cienkus was the WIAC Kwik Trip Women's Gymnastics Specialist of the Week for the week of January 6-12 after winning both the balance beam and floor exercise against Gustavus Adolphus on January 10.
Radojevich was the Titans' representative on the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
The Titans look to defend their national title after winning the last three titles during the 2025 NCGA Championship on March 22.
