RIVER FALLS, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh softball split its road doubleheader with UW-River Falls at the Falcons' Faye Perkins Softball Stadium on Saturday (April 19).

The Titans (26-4, 4-2 WIAC) notched 12 hits across the doubleheader including two doubles and a triple. Oshkosh, ranked 11th nationally by the
National Fastpitch Coaches Association, won the first game, 2-0, before the Falcons won game two by a score of 4-3.

Sydney Nemetz (Sr. • Marinette) threw a complete game shutout, her fifth of the season and the 17th of her career in game one. She struck out three batters while allowing five hits and three walks, moving to an 11-2 record this year.

Abby Garceau (Sr. • Mishicot) hit 2-for-3 in the first game with an RBI.
Sydney Rau (Fifth • Downers Grove, Ill.) and
Sarah Hammerton (So. • Appleton) each recorded a hit and a run, and Rau drew a walk.

Nemetz put the Falcons down in order in the second and third innings and River Falls reached second base just twice during the contest.

The Titans tallied their two runs in the first and second innings. Rau tripled as the first batter of the game and reached home when
Cali Divito (Sr. • Inverness, Ill.) singled down the left field line in the following at-bat.

Hammerton scored in the second inning after singling through the left side. She stole second before reaching home on a Garceau single down the right field line.

Grace Nardi (Fr. • Marquette, Mich.) pitched the first 5.2 innings of the nightcap, striking out two batters while allowing two runs on five hits and two walks.
Skyler Calmes (Jr. • Kaukauna) faced the next three batters in the sixth inning, forcing one groundout while allowing two hits.
Morgan Miller (Jr. • Schaumburg, Ill.) finished the game, throwing 0.2 innings and allowing two runs on two hits. She was assigned the loss and moved to 1-1 on the season.

Olivia Ullman (Fr. • Denmark) hit 3-for-4 in the second game, tallying a double and an RBI. Garceau,
Sydney Rau, and Divito each scored one of Oshkosh's runs.

UW-Oshkosh jumped on the board first on a Hammerton sacrifice bunt and a bases loaded walk for
Morgan Rau (Fifth • Downers Grove, Ill.) in the first inning.

Neither team found home in the second, third, or fourth innings, and the Titans extended their edge to three runs in the top of the fifth. Divito reached on an error and advanced on a
Mary Kate Quaid (Fr. • Aurora, Ill.) single and a
Morgan Rau walk before crossing the plate when Ullman singled to left field.

The Falcons made the score 3-2 in the sixth inning by scoring on a bases loaded walk and a single through the left side. They then won in the seventh on an RBI single and a sacrifice fly.s

The Titans travel to Stevens Point to take on the No. 21 Pointers (23-7, 2-4 WIAC) for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
