OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh baseball continued its homestand on Saturday (April 5) as it hosted UW-La Crosse for the first two of a four-game series against the Eagles.

The Titans recorded four home runs during the doubleheader, including one by both Jake Surane (Grad. • Lincolnshire, Ill.) and Logan Schill (So. • Pewaukee), and two by Mason Kirchberg (Sr. • DeForest), however the Eagles won the first game by a score of 11-4 and the second by a score of 15-4.

Surane paced UW-Oshkosh with a 3-for-4 clip at the plate in the first game, adding a home run, two RBIs, and two runs. Schill went 3-for-5 with a home run and a double, an RBI, and two runs.

He allowed three runs on three hits.

The Titans struck first in game one when Nick Shiu (Sr. • Gurnee, Ill.) sent Surane home on a groundout. Schill tacked on another run for Oshkosh in the third inning, hitting his second home run of the season to right field.

The Eagles tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the fifth inning with an RBI double and an RBI single.

UW-La Crosse held a monopoly on scoring down the stretch. The Eagles scored two runs in the sixth inning, four in the seventh, and three in the ninth.

Kirchberg hit 2-for-4 with both of his home runs and recorded four RBIs in the second game.

The Titans' starter for game two was Connor Walters (Jr. • Libertyville, Ill.), who pitched 5.0 innings and allowed eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits and three walks while striking out six.

La Crosse jumped on the board early with five runs in the first inning. The Eagles tallied their runs on a two-RBI single, a two-RBI double, and an RBI single.

Schill singled to lead off the bottom half of the inning and advanced to second on a Surane flyout. Kirchberg hit his first homer of the game two batters later and cut La Crosse's edge to 5-2.
