GREENSBORO, N.C.- For the third year since the introduction of the award, UW-Oshkosh earned American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Region 9 All-Defensive honors on Thursday (June 19).

Connor Brinkman (New London/New London) and
2025 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove recipient outfielder
Jake Surane (Lincolnshire, Ill./Stevenson) were the Titans' 2025 all-defensive honorees.

Brinkman appeared in 13 games this season with 12 starts and recorded two putouts with 16 assists on 18 chances while turning a pair of double plays and picking off one runner on the base path. He posted a 3.75 earned run average with a 1.18 walks plus hits per inning pitched

Across all 51 of UW-Oshkosh's games, Surane submitted a .988 fielding percentage with 169 putouts and two assists on 173 total chances while committing just two errors.

Brinkman and Surane were joined on the Region 9 All-Defensive Team by UW-La Crosse's first baseman George Seaman and outfielder Nate Witte, and UW-Whitewater's catcher Aaron Holland.

Since the ABCA began awarding region all-defensive awards following the 2023 season, five Titans have earned the award. Connor Giusti and Matt Scherrman collected the honor in 2023, and
Jack McNamara (La Grange, Ill./Lyons) was named to the team in 2024.

American Baseball Coaches Association in the final regular season polls, won 35 games for the first time since 2007 and made its 26th appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship. The Titans won a regional title for the 18th time in program history when they defeated Chicago, 10-2, to secure the Saint Peter, Minnesota Regional crown. They faced UW-Whitewater in the Super Regional and forced game three with a 5-2 win in game two on May 24 before the Warhawks won the best-of-three tournament. The Titans set team records in at-bats (1,835), hits (588), stolen bases (114), and innings pitched (440.0) this year.

Ten Titans were named All-WIAC on May 14, led by Brinkman who was named to the first team for the fourth consecutive season.
Brett Gaynor (Long Grove, Ill./Stevenson) and
Zach Taylor (Long Grove, Ill./Stevenson) also collected first team honors.
Josh Jansen (DeForest/DeForest), Kirchberg,
Ryan Richter (Waukesha/Waukesha West),
Logan Schill (Pewaukee/Pewaukee),
Nick Shiu (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township),
Carter Stebane (Brillion/Brillion), and Surane were all named honorable mention and Stebane was UW-Oshkosh's representative on the all-sportsmanship team.
When D3baseball.com and the ABCA released their all-region teams on May 27, Taylor earned second team honors from both organizations, Stebane was named to the first team by the ABCA, Surane earned his third second team mention from the ABCA, and Brinkman was named third team all-region by D3baseball.com.

The ABCA Region All-Defensive Awards are selected by ABCA coaches committees at the NCAA Division II, Division III, and Pacific Association Division levels.

The ABCA Award Program is one of the most comprehensive in all of sports, honoring All-America and Gold Glove teams in nine divisions of amateur baseball as well as All-Region teams in five divisions.
