OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics cruised to a double-digit victory over Hamline University (Minn.) at Kolf Sports Center on Thursday night (Jan. 15) by outscoring the Pipers, 191.875-175.525.
The
No. 2 nationally ranked Titans swept all four events as a team and claimed seven first-place finishes. They scored 48.650 points on the vault, 47.750 on the uneven bars, 47.000 on the balance beam and 48.475 in the floor exercise.
Hannah Hughes (Selden, N.Y./Newfield) led Oshkosh with top placements on the vault (9.775), uneven bars (9.675) and balance beam (9.500).
Ome Ellis (Oak Park, Mich./Royal Oak) tied Hughes' score on the vault, followed in third by
Amaya McConkay (Broken Arrow, Okla./Union), who tallied a 9.725.
Reanna McGibboney (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) took fourth at 9.700 points,
Kris Phillips (Warrenton, Mo./Warrenton) fifth at 9.675 and
Averie Evans (Fort Worth, Texas/Boswell) sixth at 9.600.
On the bars, Evans joined Hughes at the top of the standings. McConkay claimed her second third-place finish by scoring 9.550 points while
Hadley Bretschneider (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southwest) scored a 9.500 for fourth place.
While Hughes earned her third first-place finish on the beam,
Jay Ratkowski (Franklin/Franklin) earned a matching score of 9.500 points.
Lydia Hayden (Broomfield, Colo./Broomfield) and
Kristina Jakubiak (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) each scored 9.350 points to take a tie for fourth place.
Aleah Radojevich (Chicago, Ill./Saint Laurence) won the floor exercise outright with a 9.750-point performance.
Taylor Leaman (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) and Ratkowski both surpassed 9.700 points by tallying 9.725 points apiece, which was good for a second place tie. Rounding out the top six were McGibboney at 9.650,
Jurnee Warkentien (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) at 9.625 and Ellis at 9.600.
The Titans will compete in their first road meet on Friday, January 23 when they face Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) at the Gusties' Sponberg Gymnastics Studio.
