Titans Place Trio Of Top-Two Finishers At Loras Open

DUBUQUE, Iowa- UW-Oshkosh women's wrestling finished its penultimate regular season meet with three second-place finishers during Saturday's (Jan. 31) Loras College (Iowa) Open.

Isabel Paz (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North), Myra Bair (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) and Mya Delleree (Fredonia/Ozaukee) each secured second place in the 103-, 110- and 124-pound brackets, respectively.

Paz earned a pair of wins by fall in her first two matches of the meet. She pinned Loras' Kylie Loffer at 5:34 and Grace Murphy from the University of Dubuque at 2:34 before running into UW-Stevens Point's Alexis Winecke in the third round, falling by technical fall.

Bair and Sophia Miller from Simpson College (Iowa) were the only two wrestlers in the 110-pound bracket. Miller defeated Bair by 10-0 technical fall in both matches to secure the top position.

Much like Paz, Delleree won both of her first two matches by fall before dropping her third match. She pinned Simpson's Lainie Burkhart at 4:26 and Stevens Point's Rosemary Triggs at 2:21. Delleree lost by 2:00 fall to Bree Swenson from Dubuque in the final match.

Nellie Stagg (West Liberty, Iowa/West Liberty) and Natalie Gratschmayr (Greendale/Martin Luther) also finished Saturday's meet with place finishes, both taking sixth in their respective brackets.

Stagg dropped to the consolation bracket with a loss by pin to Central College's (Iowa) Esther Belzer before earning a 4-2 decision win over Katerina Conrad from Lakeland University.

Gratschmayr won her first consolation match with a 2:48 pin fall victory against Dubuque's Argelis Hernandez Perez.

The Titans wrap up their regular season slate at the Augustana College (Ill.) Quad Cities DIII Invitational on February 7-8.
