MENOMINEE, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's track and field team traveled to the Warren Bowlus Open, hosted by UW-Stout in Johnson Fieldhouse on Saturday (Jan. 31). The Titans put up several great marks both on the track and in the field during the non-scoring meet.
Lehna Mitchell's (Oshkosh/Oshkosh North) second-place finish of 5:07.72 in the mile run kicked off the medal winners for the Titans.
Maya Van Schyndel (Little Chute/Little Chute) won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.32 seconds and
Megan Hoffman (Clayton/Clayton) snagged third in the 400-meter dash, running a 1:03.84.
The Warren Bowlus Open also had a 600-meter, an event not usually seen in most meets.
Emma Boegh (Berlin/Berlin) placed second in the event, running 1:42.60.
Addie Baker (Delavan/Elkhorn Area) also placed second, running 26.23 in the 200 meter dash.
Amelia Lehman (Oshkosh/Valley Christian) dominated the 3,000-meter run, finishing at 9:28.14 – nearly 70 seconds faster than the next attached runner. Her finish broke the facility and meet records by just under 30 seconds and reset Oshkosh's indoor 3,000-meter record last set by 2025 UW-Oshkosh Athletics Hall of Fame inductee,
Christy Cazzola.
Gwen Feitl (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South) placed third in the event, running a 10:37.48.
The Titans ended the track events with a second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of
Emma Boegh (Berlin/Berlin),
Adriana Garcia (Green Bay/Green Bay East),
Anabel Mitchell (Oshkosh/Oshkosh North) and
Athena Soto (Whitewater/Whitewater) finished in a time of 4:24.16.
In the field,
Jade Gumila (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) placed third in the triple jump with a jump of 10.23 meters and
Brooklyn Manz (Kiel/Kiel) grabbed a third place medal by throwing 12.05 meters in the shot put.
The Titans compete at the Ripon College Red Hawk Invitational next, on Saturday, February 7.
