WHITEWATER, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's track & field competed in the UW-Whitewater Midwest Elite Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 13-14), a non-scoring meet, and sent
Amelia Lehman (Oshkosh/Valley Christian) back east to compete in the NCAA Division I Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
Lehman set the Titans' mile run record with a fourth-place time of 4:41.03, which bested the old record set by Christy Cazzola in 2013 by more than two seconds. Lehman's finish was the fastest by a Division III runner at the meet and stands half a second off the fastest time in division history.
Lehna Mitchell (Oshkosh/Oshkosh North) posted the first strong performance on the track for the Titans as she finished fourth in the mile run with a time of 5:10.16.
Addie Baker (Delavan/Elkhorn Area) earned Oshkosh's first event win by winning the 400-meter dash in 58.27 seconds.
Maya Van Schyndel (Little Chute/Little Chute) placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles, running a time of 9.09 seconds.
Madeline Osmanski (Algonquin, Ill./Harry D. Jacobs) and
Ella Galaszewski (West Allis/Nathan Hale) both earned top-five placements in the 3,000-meter run. Osmanski placed fourth with a time of 11:22.02 and Galaszewski placed fifth with a time of 11:36.90.
The Titans came out throwing in the field, as they took four of the top-five spots in the weight throw.
Carly Huelskamp (St. Germain/Northland Pines) led the way with a first-place throw of 16.24 meters.
Kaelyn Bilello (Menomonee Falls/Menomonee Falls),
Abi Masloroff (Franklin/Franklin) and
Alana Noggle (De Pere/West De Pere) placed third through fifth with marks of 15.85 meters, 15.51 meters and 15.46 meters, respectively.
Brooklyn Manz (Kiel/Kiel) tied for third in the shot put, throwing 12.86 meters.
The Titans host their final indoor meet of the season next Saturday (Feb. 21). The Titan Challenge will take place in Kolf Sports Center, starting at 10 a.m.
