EAU CLAIRE, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics defeated UW-Eau Claire, 193.775-192.900, in the Blugolds' McPhee Physical Education Center on Thursday night (Feb. 19), wrapping up its string of five consecutive weeks away from Oshkosh.
The Titans, ranked first in the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association by
RoadToNationals.com, won the uneven bars (48.500-48.200), vault (48.650-47.675) and balance beam (48.750-48.550) team titles while the No. 8 Blugolds outscored Oshkosh in the floor exercise, 48.475-47.875.
UW-Oshkosh extended its run of wins over UW-Eau Claire to eight in a row dating back to a 183.025-179.175 victory in Oshkosh on January 25, 2019, and scored at least 190 points for the 35th consecutive meet.
Hadley Bretschneider (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southwest) tied atop the uneven bars leaderboard with a score of 9.775 points, followed by both
Hannah Hughes (Selden, N.Y./Newfield) and
Lydia Hayden (Broomfield, Colo./Broomfield) in third place at 9.725.
Reanna McGibboney (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) placed fifth with a 9.675-point tally. Placing ninth with 9.600 points was
Amaya McConkay (Broken Arrow, Okla./Union).
McGibboney earned the outright vault title as she scored 9.800 points. McConkay claimed second at 9.750 points and Hughes and
Kris Phillips (Warrenton, Mo./Warrenton) finished with 9.725 points apiece for a two-way tie for third place.
Kasha Muraski (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South) scored a 9.650 to take sixth and
Talynn Rae Gallegos (Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe) scored a 9.550 for ninth.
In the floor exercise, McGibboney led the Titans with a third-place finish, scoring 9.700 points.
Aleah Radojevich (Chicago, Ill./Saint Laurence) scored a 9.625 for fifth place, followed in eighth by
Jurnee Warkentien (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) at 9.550 points.
Ome Ellis (Oak Park, Mich./Royal Oak) and
Jay Ratkowski (Franklin/Franklin) both tallied a 9.500 for a ninth-place tie.
Kristina Jakubiak (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) claimed the top spot on the balance beam with a career-best 9.875 points. Ellis placed second at 9.825 points and Hayden took fourth with a 9.775. Hughes, Warkentien and
Sam Dorrity (Lewisville, Texas/iUniversity Prep) all finished the event with at least 9.600 points with Hughes placing seventh with a 9.650, Warkentien ninth at 9.625 and Dorrity 11th at 9.600.
The Titans close out their regular season at home on Friday, February 27 as they host UW-Stout in Kolf Sports Center at 6 p.m.
