OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh men's track & field hosted the Titan Challenge, its final indoor home meet of the season in Kolf Sports Center on Saturday (Feb. 21).
The Titans, ranked atop NCAA Division III by the
U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, won four events, highlighted by
Gavin Fritsch's (Little Chute/Little Chute Career Pathways Academy) program record in the weight throw.
A week after breaking it the first time, Fritsch reset his school record in the weight throw with a cast of 20.84 meters, which is the eighth furthest individual mark in Division III history and ranks first on the Division III qualifying list this season.
Alex Peterson (Oconto Falls/Gillett) was the first medalist on the track, setting a new personal record in the mile in 4:19.06 for third place.
Matthew Eiden (Stevens Point/SPASH) was the third collegiate in the 400-meter dash, running a time of 50.42 second.
Vince Nienhaus also collected a third-place finish among collegiate runners, this time in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.69 seconds.
Eddie Jones (Waukesha/Catholic Memorial) was the top collegiate finisher in the 60-meter dash. He ran a 6.87 and took second overall.
Dwight Hosni (Cedarburg/Cedarburg) ran 1:54.79 in the 800-meter for second place.
Peyton Hale (Lancaster/Lancaster) ran 22.37 seconds in the 200-meter dash, good for third place.
Aaron Nehls (Fredonia/Ozaukee) ran a personal record in the 3,000-meter run, placing second with 8:46.60.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team placed third in 3:30.04. The team consisted of

Jett Breed (Oswego, Ill./Oswego),
Alex Peterson (Oconto Falls/Gillett) and
Xavier Lasee (North Fond du Lac/Horace Mann).
In the field,
Christian Thompson (Milwaukee/Ronald Reagan) won the high jump, jumping 2.01 meters. Right behind him was Josiah Hibbler, who jumped 1.96 meters.
Max Milbrath (Durand, Ill./Durand) and
Matthew Ewens (New Berlin/New Berlin West) claimed the top two spots in the long jump. Milbrath won at 6.84 meters and Ewens was runner-up at 6.81.
Milbrath doubled back in the triple jump, taking second at 12.99 meters.
Isaiah Isom was runner-up in the shot put, throwing 16.75 meters.
In the pole vault, Colin Kao tied for first, vaulting 5.10 meters. Christian St. Clair was the third collegiate finisher with a 4.65 meter vault.
On Friday (Feb. 20), the Titans' distance medley relay team ran at UW-La Crosse's Caged Eagle Open. The squad ran a time of 10:06.69 for second place.
Lucas Nicholson (Pewaukee/Pewaukee) ran the 1,200-meter leg,
Sean Malay (Denmark/Denmark) the 400-meter leg,
Dwight Hosni (Cedarburg/Cedarburg) the 800-meter leg and
Cameron Cullen (Kewaunee/Kewaunee) the mile leg.
The Titans return to action on Friday (Feb. 27) as they head to Platteville for the WIAC Championship to compete for the seventh conference indoor title in program history.
