OSHKOSH, Wis.- On Saturday (Feb. 21), the UW-Oshkosh women's track and field team wrapped up its home indoor season by hosting the Titan Challenge.
While the meet was unscored, the
No. 17 nationally ranked Titans collected 12 top-three finishes including three event wins.
On Friday (Feb. 20), the Titans' distance medley relay team ran a 11:48.91 during the UW-La Crosse Caged Eagle Open, which could end the season as a national championship-qualifying mark. The team consisted of
Lehna Mitchell (Oshkosh/Oshkosh North) in the 1,200-meter leg,
Maddy LaVoi (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny Centennial) in the 400-meter leg,
Emma Boegh (Berlin/Berlin) in the 800-meter leg and
Amelia Lehman (Oshkosh/Valley Christian) in the mile leg.
Gwen Feitl (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South) kicked off the medals on the track, running a mile personal record of 5:15.20 for second place.
Evelyn Karls (Kimberly/Kimberly) was the third collegiate finisher, running a 5:16.33.
The Titans swept the top-three positions in the 400-meter dash. LaVoi led the way with a 57.49.
Addie Baker (Delavan/Elkhorn Area) and
Megan Hoffman (Clayton/Clayton) followed, running 58.46- and 58.85-second times, respectively.
Maya Van Schnydel picked up a bronze medal in the 60-meter hurdles, running a 9.15.
Boegh was the third-place finisher in the 800-meter run after running the DMR in La Crosse. She ran 2:17.23.
Addie Baker (Delavan/Elkhorn Area) won the 200 meter dash by 0.01 seconds. Her time of 26.07 was just enough to sneak the win.
Allison VanDerWegen (Kaukauna/Kaukauna) grabbed third place in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 10:34.81.
The team of
Anabel Mitchell (Oshkosh/Oshkosh North),
Megan Hoffman (Clayton/Clayton),
Adriana Garcia (Green Bay/Green Bay East) and
MacKenzie Dix (Green Bay/Ashwaubenon) placed third in the 4x400-meter relay, running the event in 4:11.50.
In the field, two Titans picked up medals in the pole vault.
Haley Kanitz (Menomonee Falls/Menomonee Falls) placed second with a best height of 3.55 meters and
Emerson Clark (Ladysmith/Ladysmith) took third with a 3.40-meter vault.
Brooklyn Manz (Kiel/Kiel) won the shot put with a throw of 13.05 meters.
The Titans return on Friday (Feb. 27) for the WIAC Championship, hosted by UW-Platteville. They will compete for the 14th league indoor title in program history.
