RIPON, Wis.- A pair of program records fell on Saturday (Feb. 7) as UW-Oshkosh men's track & field participated in three meets. The Titans won the Ripon College Red Hawk Invitational with 183 points and sent athletes to Illinois Wesleyan University and UW-La Crosse.

The 4x400-meter relay squad of
Dylan Doss (Sterling, Ill./Sterling),
Sean Malay (Denmark/Denmark),
Lucas Koerselman (West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) and
Tyran Bender (Bradley, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais Community) took second at the UW-La Crosse Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational with a 3:13.80 finish. They broke Rashaad Henderson,
Ryan Potter (Oak Creek/Oak Creek),
Londyn Little (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) and Devin Williams' 3:14.66 mark from the 2023 season.

In what has become a trend this season,
Collin Kao (Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community) reset Oshkosh's pole vault record for the third time since the beginning of the year during the two-day Illinois Wesleyan University Multi/Keck DIII Select. He placed second behind NCAA Division I Western Illinois University's Arnie Grunert with a best height of 5.20 meters that ranks second in Division III this season.

Cavan Dobberstein (Manawa/Fox Valley Lutheran) and
Bryce Smith (De Pere/West De Pere) claimed the top two spots in the heptathlon at Illinois Wesleyan. Dobberstein won the title with 4,941 points which included wins in the shot put (11.71 meters), 60-meter hurdles (8.51 seconds) and a personal record mark of 4.16 meters in the pole vault. Smith won the high jump (1.87 meters) and 1,000-meter run (2:54.99) on his way to second with 4,842 points.

Over in La Crosse,
Dylan Doss (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) won the 60-meter dash in 6.71 after posting a matching time in the preliminary round.
Davian Willems (De Pere/West De Pere) took second place at 6.75 and
Nolan Milas (Virgil, Ill./Burlington Central) third at 6.84 to complete the top-three sweep.

Milas doubled back in the 200-meter dash to take the win, running the event in 21.65 seconds.

Lucas Nicholson (Pewaukee/Pewaukee) snagged the silver medal in the 800-meter run with an indoor personal best of 1:53.88.

Joshua Rivers (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) took fourth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.91 meters

Xavier Lasee (North Fond du Lac/Horace Mann) earned the first medal for the Titans in Ripon, placing second in the mile run with a time of 4:21.01.

The Titans earned two more medals in the 400-meter dash, with
Henry Kennedy (Carpentersville, Ill./Dundee-Crown) and
Brandon Marks (Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) taking second and third. Kennedy ran a 51.29 and Marks ran a 51.63.

Christian Thompson (Milwaukee/Ronald Reagan) claimed third place in the 60-meter hurdles, completing the event in 8.46 seconds.

Jett Breed (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) and
Luke Beeksma (/) both earned medals in the 800-meter run. Breed placed second with a time of 1:57.85 and Beeksma was third in 1:58.11.

Peyton Hale (Lancaster/Lancaster) also placed second in the 200-meter dash, running a 22.80.

In the 4x400-meter relay, all three teams of Titans won their respective heats. The team of Beeksma, Lasee, Breed and
Noah Callahan (Barlett, Ill./South Elgin) won the entire event with a time of 3:28.68.

The Titans started off strong in the field with
Cameron McAndrews (West Bend/West Bend West) winning the long jump with a jump of 6.72 meters.

Isaiah Isom and
Kieran Maude (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) placed second and third in the shot put. Isom threw 16.36 meters and Maude threw 15.85.

Gavin Fritsch (Little Chute/Little Chute Career Pathways Academy) and
Bryce Hale (Appleton/Kimberly) snagged the top two spots in the weight throw with best casts of 19.69 and 18.45 meters, respectively.

The Titans took the top four spots in the high jump.
Christian Thompson (Milwaukee/Ronald Reagan) and Josiah Hibbler tied for the win at 2.00 meters. McAndrews rounded out the podium at 1.95 meters and
Brady Hoffer (Appleton/Kaukauna) was fourth with a best height of 1.90 meters.

The Titans return next week for the highly competitive Midwest Elite Invitational, hosted by UW-Whitewater. Some of the best athletes from the Midwest Region will compete in the 5000 meter run at night on Friday (February 13), and the rest of the meet will take place on Saturday, February 14.
