Metcalf-Grassman Headlines Oshkosh’s All-WIAC Picks

MADISON, Wis.- Junior guard Michael Metcalf-Grassman (Shawano/Waukesha/Shawano Community) was named First Team to lead UW-Oshkosh's selections on the 2026 Men's Basketball All-WIAC Team.
 
Titans sophomore guard Joey LaChapell (Appleton/Appleton East) was tabbed to the Honorable Mention Team, freshman guard Aiden Hawkinson (Waupun/Waupun) was named WIAC Co-Newcomer of the Year, and senior guard Reed Seckar (Oshkosh/Oshkosh North) rounded out Oshkosh's mentions on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
 
Metcalf-Grassman, the 2024 WIAC Newcomer of the Year, was voted to the 10-member First Team for the first time. LaChapell, the 2025 WIAC Newcomer of the Year, is a repeat selection on the WIAC Honorable Mention Team. Hawkinson, who shared the award with UW-Stevens Point's Max Raimer, becomes the Titans' third consecutive and fourth overall WIAC Newcomer of the Year. Levi Borchert was the program's first Newcomer of the Year in 2020.
 
Metcalf-Grassman averaged 14.4 points, 4.0 rebounds 1.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game this season while shooting 48.5 percent (97-200) from the field and adding 16 blocks in 20 games played. He ranks sixth in the conference in blocks and ninth in scoring.
 
Metcalf-Grassman's season highs include 26 points, nine rebounds and three assists against UW-La Crosse on January 7; four blocks at UW-River Falls on February 7; and three steals on five occasions.
 
LaChapell averaged 12.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and a team-leading 3.3 assists per contest. He shot 49 percent (97-198) from the floor, 38 percent (41-108) from 3-point range and a WIAC-best 91.5 percent (86-94) at the free throw line. LaChapell, whose season free throw percentage leads the conference and ranks fifth in the NCAA Division III, is the current NCAA active leader among all divisions in career free throw percentage at .934 (171-183).
LaChapell established season bests with 29 points, going 9-for-11 from the field and 11-for-11 at the foul line, against UW-La Crosse on January 7; and six assists in four different games.
 
Hawkinson averaged 6.7 points and 2.1 rebounds during 26 appearances off the Titans bench. He went for a season-high 21 points against UW-Eau Claire on February 11.
Oshkosh (17-9, 8-6 WIAC) finished fifth in the league standings and is currently pacing the conference in scoring (82.3) in addition to per-game assists (14.9), made 3-pointers (10.8) and turnovers forced (14.5).
 
Joining Metcalf-Grassman on the All-WIAC First Team were UW-Eau Claire's Andre Renta; UW-La Crosse's Dustin Derousseau, Sam Grieger and JJ Paider; UW-Platteville's Joey Fuhremann; UW-Stevens Point's Josiah Butler and Seth Miron; and UW-Whitewater's Collin Madson and Isaac Verges.
 
Grieger was named WIAC Player of the Year and UW-Whitewater's Jarod Wichser garnered Coach of the Year laurels.
