OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team hosted their home invitational on Friday and Saturday (April 10-11). In the second year of the meet on the new track, the Titans had numerous standout performances.

Bryce Smith (De Pere/West De Pere) won the decathlon over both days, finishing with 6,470 points.
Cavan Dobberstein (Manawa/Fox Valley Lutheran) finished right behind him with 6,335 points and
Christian Thompson (Milwaukee/Ronald Reagan) took fourth with 6,038 points. Smith collected individual event wins in the 400-meter dash (50.88), 110-meter hurdles (15.06), pole vault (4.30m) and 1,500-meter run (4:57.62); Dobberstein won the long jump (6.97m); and Thompson won the high jump (1.94m). Matt Scholbe, who took seventh overall, won the 100-meter dash (11.14).

The Titans swept the top four spots in the pole vault with
Collin Kao (Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community) leading the way with a height of 4.96 meters.
Ethan Pinkerton (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) and
Ethan Stukenberg (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) placed second and third, both vaulting 4.51 meters.
Evan Taylor (Oconomowoc/Oconomowoc) rounded out the top four with a height of 4.21 meters.

Matthew Ewens (New Berlin/New Berlin West) won the high jump, jumping 1.95 meters for the gold medal.
Brady Hoffer (Appleton/Kaukauna) snagged bronze with a jump of 1.80 meters and
Kendrick Cyracus (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) placed fifth with a jump of 1.80 meters. Ewens doubled back in the javelin, throwing 43.93 meters for third place.

Gavin Fritsch (Little Chute/Little Chute Career Pathways Academy),
Bryce Hale (Appleton/Kimberly) and
Kieran Maude (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) swept the top three in the hammer throw. Fritsch threw 59.58 meters, Hale threw 55.04 meters and Maude threw 54.43 meters.

The Titans throwers stayed hot, taking four of the top five spots for discus. Fritsch won with a cast of 50.16 meters,
Cameron Bendixen (DeForest/DeForest) grabbed bronze with 48.09 meters, Maude threw 47.69 meters for fourth and Hale threw 44.91 meters for fifth.

In the shot put, the Titans also placed four of the top five. Isaiah Isom led the Titans with a silver medal, throwing 15.92 meters. Maude threw 14.87 meters for third, Fritsch threw 14.78 meters for fourth and
Jack Wellhoefer (Omro/Omro) threw 14.71 meters for fifth.

The Titans' long jumpers grabbed the top four spots in the event.
Joshua Rivers (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) led the way with 7.77 meters, followed by
Caleb Wright (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) at 7.26.
Christian Wallace (Kenosha/Indian Trail) jumped 6.87 meters for third and
Keith Cyracus (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) jumped 6.68 meters for fourth.

Ben Lissa (Silvis, Ill./United Township), Wallace and
Max Milbrath (Durand, Ill./Durand) grabbed the top three spots in the triple jump. Lissa and Wallace jumped 14.04 meters and Milbrath jumped 13.72.

On the track,
Lucas Nicholson (Pewaukee/Pewaukee) started the Titans off strong with a 1,500-meter win in 4:00.68.

Davian Willems (De Pere/West De Pere) claimed the Titans' next gold medal, running 10.47 meters in the 100-meter dash.

Sean Malay (Denmark/Denmark) took the win in the 400-meter dash, running 49.23 seconds to sneak out the win.
Eli Kerner (Eagle River/Northland Pines) grabbed bronze in 49.48 seconds and
Matthew Eiden (Stevens Point/SPASH) placed fourth running a 49.96.

Luke Beeksma (Eau Claire/Eau Claire Memorial) earned a bronze medal in the 800-meter run, finishing in a time of 1:58.53.
Xavier Lasee (North Fond du Lac/Horace Mann) placed fifth, running a 1:59.56. Lasee doubled back to win the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:41.71.

Brandon Marks (Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) ran the 400-meter hurdles in 58.40, good for fourth place.

Dylan Doss (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) won the 200-meter dash in a time of 20.59 seconds. Right behind him was
Nolan Milas (Virgil, Ill./Burlington Central), who ran 20.99 for second.
Londyn Little (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) placed fourth in 21.25 seconds.

The Titans 4x400-meter relay team placed second in 3:34.69. The team consisted of Beeksma,
Dwight Hosni (Cedarburg/Cedarburg),
Jacob Hite (Necedah/Necedah) and
Noah Callahan (Barlett, Ill./South Elgin).

Additionally, the Titans sent athletes to UW-Platteville to compete in the 5,000-meter run on Friday. The Titans had many standout performances, led
Cameron Cullen's (Kewaunee/Kewaunee) personal record 14:25.17 that netted him 24th place.

The Titans return next Friday and Saturday (April 17-18) for multiple meets. The UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge takes place over both days, and the Lawrence University Viking Twilight takes place on Saturday.
