LA CROSSE, Wis./APPLETON, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team competed in back-to-back days on Thursday and Friday (April 16-17), heading to La Crosse for the UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge and to Appleton for the Lawrence University Viking Invitational.

In La Crosse, the Titans started the day on the track with an eighth-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay. The team of
Nyla Brown (Milwaukee/Cudahy),
Addie Baker (Delavan/Elkhorn Area),
Mia Riley (Janesville/Janesville Parker) and
Emerson Clark (Ladysmith/Ladysmith) ran a time of 49.51 seconds.

Maya Van Schyndel (Little Chute/Little Chute) was the lone individual top-eight placement on the track, taking eighth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.81 seconds.

In the field,
Megan Geason (Franklin/Oak Creek) placed fourth in the triple jump, jumping 11.47 meters and
Ruby Goldstein (Somerset/Somerset) finished in eight in the discus with a throw of 42.20 meters.

Over in Appleton,
Josie Makurat (Fairfax, Va./Woodson) made her return in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, running a time of 12:26.70 for second place.

Athena Soto (Whitewater/Whitewater) earned bronze in the 1,500-meter run with a 5:08.11 finish.

Carly Huelskamp (St. Germain/Northland Pines) and
Kaelyn Bilello (Menomonee Falls/Menomonee Falls) placed seventh and eighth in the discus, with Huelskamp throwing 33.61 meters and Bilello throwing 32.87 meters.

Huelskamp then proceeded to win the shot put, throwing 12.56 meters.
Brooklyn Manz (Kiel/Kiel) earned bronze in the event with a throw of 11.84 meters and Bilello placed sixth with 10.10 meters.

The Titans have two meets again next week, starting with Drake University Relays from Wednesday to Saturday (April 22-25). They will also compete in the St. Norbert College Invitational on Saturday.
