4x100-Meter Relay Crew Sets Division III Record At La Crosse Final Qualifier

Davian Willems, Dylan Doss, Londyn Little and Nolan Milas set the NCAA Division III 4x100-meter record in 38.96 seconds

LA CROSSE, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh's 4x100-meter relay team highlighted the Titans' last final qualifying meets by becoming the first NCAA Division III program to run a sub 39-second race during the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier on Thursday (May 14).
 
The Titans sent athletes to two meets in the middle of the week: the La Crosse Final Qualifier, and the Augustana College (Ill.) Midwest Twilight Qualifier.
 
Davian Willems (De Pere/West De Pere), Dylan Doss (Sterling, Ill./Sterling), Londyn Little (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) and Nolan Milas (Virgil, Ill./Burlington Central) bested the host Eagles' previous national record with a 38.96-second finish in the 4x100-meter relay. The Division III record, the squad's time would also rank third in Division II.
 
Eddie Jones (Waukesha/Catholic Memorial) finished fourth in the 100-meter dash, running a time of 10.48 seconds. Jones came back for the 200-meter dash and finished fourth with a 21.72-seconds time.
 
Matthew Eiden (Stevens Point/SPASH) ran the 400-meter dash. He completed the event in 49.02 seconds, good for seventh place.
 
The Titans 4x400-meter relay team of Sean Malay (Denmark/Denmark), Tyran Bender (Bradley, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais Community), Little and Lucas Koerselman (West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) claimed a silver medal, running 3:11.54.
 
In the field, Gavin Fritsch (Little Chute/Little Chute Career Pathways Academy) tied for second place in the discus, throwing 53.48 meters. Fritsch also placed second in the hammer throw, throwing 60.07 meters. Bryce Hale (Appleton/Kimberly) snagged fourth in the event, throwing 58.07 meters.
 
At Augustana, the Titans had two athletes compete in the 800-meter run. Lucas Nicholson (Pewaukee/Pewaukee) earned a silver medal in his second fastest time ever, running 1:50.66.
 
The Titans return for their final meet of the season next week, sending athletes back to La Crosse for the NCAA Division III Championships from May 21-23.
