Titans Shut Out Green Knights In Season-Opening Win

Nadia Epshteyn scored Oshkosh's first goal of the season early in the 4-0 victory

OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's soccer opened its 2026 campaign with a 4-0 victory over St. Norbert College on Tuesday (Sept. 1).

Oshkosh's (1-0) four goals were the most scored in the game since a 4-1 victory over UW-Stevens Point at home on Oct. 18, 2023, and the four-goal deficit was the largest margin of victory since The University of Olivet (Mich.) on Sept. 10, 2023.

The Titans outshot St. Norbert, 28-10, with 10 shots on goal to the Green Knights' three. Their shots on goal were the most since 11 against UW-Whitewater on Oct. 9, 2024, and their total shots were a high since putting up 31 in the 2023 match against Olivet.

In her first career start, Marissa Likes posted her first shutout with three saves while Green Knights goalkeeper Leah Hess saved six shots on goal.

Oshkosh claimed five corner kicks to St. Norbert's two but out fouled the visitors, 14-10.

Ella Duckmann (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) paced the Titans' offensive attack with five shots (one on goal), followed by Addie Wreath's (Appleton/Appleton East) four (two on goal) and Addyson Knoebel's (Appleton/Appleton West) three. Addyson Edwards (Appleton/Appleton West) put both of her attempts on goal. Four additional Titans recorded at least two shots.

Belle Dehner (Cottage Grove/Monona Grove) and Jaden LeRoy (Evansville/Evansville) both made attempts on goal in the first four minutes of play and Oshkosh made four more shots before Nadia Epshteyn (Cedarburg/Cedarburg) tallied the first goal of the season at 21:47 unassisted.

Hannah Huntley (Hudson/Hudson) added the Titans' second goal in the 42nd minute, scoring her first collegiate goal on a penalty kick that sent the teams into halftime with a 2-0 Oshkosh lead.

After a Green Knights shot bounced off the crossbar early in the second half, Oshkosh pushed the ball downfield and pushed the edge to 3-0 when Ella Duckmann (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) booted the ball into the net from 30 yards out.

Ten minutes later, Nora Longeran tallied her first goal in white and yellow from nearly the same spot.

The Green Knights had their best chance to score with 7:38 left on the clock when Aleah Reesman took a penalty kick, however, Likes jumped in front of the ball to save the shutout.

The Titans remain at home to face Mount St. Joseph University (Ohio) (1-0) on Friday (Sept. 4), Macalester College (Minn.) (0-0) on Sunday (Sept. 6) and Milwaukee School of Engineering (0-1) on Wednesday, Sept. 9. They play their first match on the road on Saturday, Sept. 12 when they travel to face Benedictine University (Ill.) (0-1).
