OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's soccer held undefeated Loras College (Iowa) scoreless in the first half of Saturday's (Sept. 26) match at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium, however the Duhawks netted a pair of goals in the second half to win, 2-0.
Despite the two goals, Oshkosh's (4-3-1) defense held Loras (7-0) to 12 shots, including just four on goal. The Duhawks game into the game averaging 21 shots and 9.17 shots on goal per game. Defenders
Addyson Edwards (Appleton/Appleton West) and
Ryley Meenk (Waukesha/Waukesha South) helped anchor the defense with 90 minutes on the pitch apiece.
The Titans' offense, meanwhile, attempted a total of 10 shots with six on goal.
Maddie Daigle (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy) led all players with three attempts on goal.
Addie Wreath (Appleton/Appleton East),
Jaden LeRoy (Evansville/Evansville) and
Shannon Walsh (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) all added one shot on goal each.
Larissa Likes (Kaukauna/Kaukauna) started in goal for Oshkosh. She made two saves and posted a clean sheet in her half between the posts.
Jamaya Mariner (Green Bay/Green Bay East) faced two shots in the second half, both of which scored.
The Titans took the first two shots on goal of the match within the first 10 minutes of play, but neither found the back of the net.
After halftime, neither team shot until Loras scored its first goal in the 57th minute.
LeRoy put the Titans' first shot on goal of the second half in the 58th minute before the Duhawks added a second goal in the 78th minute.
Daigle attempted all three of her shots in the last 12 minutes of the match in the 79th, 80th and 89th minutes.
The Titans hit the road for the first time in over two weeks on Tuesday (Sept. 29) when they head south to face Carroll University (1-2-5) at the Pioneers' Schneider Stadium. The Titans are 5-2-1 against the Pioneers all time with a 2-1 mark in Waukesha. Oshkosh has gone undefeated in each of the last four matchups with wins coming in 2011, 2021 and 2022, and a tie in 2025.
