Box Score

UW-Oshkosh had seven different players register a goal during its 7-0 women's soccer victory over UW-Superior on Saturday (Oct. 29) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

The Titans (11-6-1/5-3 WIAC) were never threatened, as they scored five times in the first 38 minutes of play. UW-Oshkosh goalkeepers Brittany Walder (Sr. • Waukesha) and Katie Berkopec (So. • Apple Valley, Minn.) didn't have to record a save on the four UW-Superior (8-11/0-8 WIAC) shots.

Carmen Fiordellisi (Sr. • Howard) assisted on the first goal of both halves. In the game's 10th minute (9:20), she set up Nikki Reed's (Sr. • Muskego) 29-yard strike from the middle of the field. About 10 minutes later (19:18), Reed earned the assist with a corner kick. Chelsea Kierszh (So. • Oshkosh) headed home the ball from six yards out to give the Titans a 2-0 lead.

Amanda Leach (Jr. • Waukesha) also posted two assists before the first period was over. Leach passed to Jessica Erny (Sr. • Wauwatosa), who scored a goal at the 25:24 mark. The Titans then made it 4-0 with Kelsey Daulton's (Fr. • Elk River, Minn.) close-range shot 35:43 into play. Shortly after that (37:56), Amanda Baalke (Fr. • Pewaukee) scored off an assist by Leach.

Just 69 seconds (46:09) into the second half, Fiordellisi and Megan White (Fr. • Kimberly) made great passes to create a goal by Abby Neumeyer (So. • Suamico). Jenna LaFontaine (So. • Oshkosh) scored the last goal of the contest (73:43), drilling an eight-yard shot off an assist by Nicole Palmquist (Fr. • Oshkosh). The goals by Reed, Neumeyer and LaFontaine were the first of the season for each Titan.

UW-Oshkosh, which posted its 10th straight shutout victory over UW-Superior, attempted 28 shots and all seven of the game's corner kicks.

Goalkeeper Alexandra Paige allowed seven goals and tallied nine saves for the Yellowjackets, who lost their 126th straight WIAC contest.

The Titans' next challenge will be against UW-Eau Claire in the first round of the WIAC Tournament. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 1) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
