OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's golf team wrapped up day one of the 2024 WIAC Championship (Presented by Culver's) with 320 strokes (32-over par), good for second in the eight team field.

UW-Whitewater paces the field at 315 strokes (27-over par), while UW-Stout is currently third with 322 (34-over par). UW-La Crosse sits fourth with 329 strokes (41-over par), UW-Platteville fifth with 330 (42-over par), UW-River Falls sixth with 344 (42-over par), UW-Eau Claire seventh with 348 (60-over par) and UW-Stevens Point eighth with 356 (68-over par).

UW-Oshkosh hit 47 pars and five birdies on day one of the competition.

The Titans are currently led by
Ava Downie (Fifth • Hortonville) in a tie for second place, who hit a 76 (4-over par), tying her career low.

Sydney Bornhorst (Sr. • Grayslake, Ill.) and
Chloe Strunk (Fr. • Waukesha) also hold top-10 positions. Bornhorst is tied for fifth with a 78 (6-over par) and Strunk is tied for 10th with an 81 (9-over par).

The Titans' third-top golfer of the day is
Taryn Endres (Jr. • Windsor), who is tied for 33rd at 85 strokes (13-over par) and their fourth is
Josie Hofer (Sr. • Menominee, Mich.) at 87 strokes (15-over par). Hofer sits 38th overall.

Hailey Matenaer (Jr. • West Bend) and
Kylie Herrin (Jr. • Orland Park, Ill.) are both tied for 41st at 88 strokes (16-over par) and
Alyssa Dreher (Sr. • Campbellsport) is currently 62nd on 94 strokes (22-over par).

Marin Bell (So. • Oshkosh) (29-over par) and
Sophia Steel (Jr. • Hoffman Estates, Ill.) both hit 101 strokes (29-over par) for 71st.
