REEDSBURG, Wis.- Helped by two-birdie days from
Rylie Severson (Green Bay/Ashwaubenon) and
Hailey Matenaer (West Bend/West Bend East), UW-Oshkosh women's golf vaulted from sixth to second place in the second day of the three-day WIAC Championship hosted at the Reedsburg Country Club.

UW-Oshkosh recorded 323 strokes (35-over par) on Saturday (Oct. 4) and own 654 (78-over par) headed into the final day of competition. UW-Stout's 615 strokes (39-over par) place it in first place while UW-Whitewater trails the Titans by five strokes with 659 (83-over par).

Julia Imai retained her claim of the individual lead with 77 strokes (5-over par) and holds 151 total strokes (5-over par).

The Titans rank second with 10 birdies and 84 pars through 36 holes and Matenaer is tied with five other golfers with four birdies, the most among the 79 competitors.

Severson moved up to 12th place on Saturday with 78 strokes (6-over par) and is currently hitting 18-over par (164 strokes). Along with her pair of birdies, she carded nine pars. Matenaer is now sitting in a tie for 13th place with 164 strokes (20-over par). She added 10 pars to her two birdies.

Sophia Eggert (Shawano/Shawano Community) also has 164 strokes and ranks 13th after an 84-stroke round.
Taryn Endres (Windsor/DeForest) rounds out UW-Oshkosh's scoring golfers with 165 strokes (21-over par) and is in 17th place.

The Titans' sixth attached golfer,
Sydney Bornhorst (Grayslake, Ill./Warren Township), is currently 36th in the individual standings with 171 strokes (27-over par).

Chloe Young (Waukesha/Bay Port) leads Oshkosh's five independent golfers in 60th place with 182 strokes (38-over par).
Addy Horne (Sheboygan Falls/Kohler) is in 66th place,
Addison Edmunds (Kansas City, Mo./Appleton West (Wis.)) is in 71st,
Ava Fahrenholz (West Bend/Slinger) is in 76th and
Aliza Koput (Tomah/Tomah) is in 78th.
