REEDSBURG, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's golf team competed in the first day of the 30th WIAC Championship on Friday (Oct. 3). Through 18 holes, the Titans rank sixth in the team standings with 331 strokes (43-over par).

UW-Stout sits atop the team standings after day one with 304 strokes (16-over par) and Blue Devil Julia Imai, last year's individual champion, leads all golfers with 74 strokes (2-over par).

Sophia Eggert (Shawano/Shawano Community) paced UW-Oshkosh's golfers on Friday, shooting an 80 (8-over par) that included a birdie and 10 pars. She currently sits 11th in the individual standings.

Also in the top 20 is
Sydney Bornhorst (Grayslake, Ill./Warren Township), who sits 18th with 83 strokes (11-over par).

UW-Oshkosh's remaining three attached athletes are tied for 26th place with 84 strokes (12-over par).
Hailey Matenaer (West Bend/West Bend East) recorded two birdies and seven pars,
Taryn Endres (Windsor/DeForest) had a birdie and six pars and
Rylie Severson (Green Bay/Ashwaubenon) carded nine pars.

The Titans have five golfers competing independently, led by
Chloe Young's (Waukesha/Bay Port) 62nd-place ranking with 92 strokes (20-over par).
Addison Edmunds (Kansas City, Mo./Appleton West (Wis.)) and
Addy Horne (Sheboygan Falls/Kohler) both have 98 strokes (26-over par) on their scoresheets through the first round and a tied for 70th place, followed by
Ava Fahrenholz (West Bend/Slinger) in 75th with 101 strokes (29-over par) and
Aliza Koput (Tomah/Tomah) in 77th with 102 (30-over par).

The Titans return to the Reedsburg Country Club on Saturday (Oct. 4) at 8:30 a.m. for the second day of competition and wrap up the conference meet on Sunday (Oct. 5) with an 8:30 a.m. tee time.
