STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Oshkosh men's cross country team competed at the WIAC Championship on Saturday (Nov. 2), hosted by UW-Stevens Point. The Titans placed seventh with 186 points. UW-La Crosse won the meet with 24 points. Grant Matthai of UW-La Crosse won the meet in a time of 23:34.
Paul Proteau (Jr. • Riverside, Ill.) led the Titans with a 26th place finish, running a season record of 24:58.
Cameron Cullen (Jr. • Kewaunee) finished in 30th with a time of 25:03.
Trent Chadwick (Jr. • Poynette) ran a new personal record of 25:32 and finished in 57th place.
John Thill (Jr. • Oshkosh) also ran a new personal record of 25:47 for 65th place. The final point scorer for the Titans was
Jason Skinkis (So. • Seymour), who finished in 71st place while running a new personal record of 25:56.
Bennett Midthun (Fr. • Fond du Lac) was the Titans' sixth runner, running a new personal best of 25:58 for 72nd place.
Eli Traeder (Jr. • Cottage Grove) finished in 75th with a time of 26:04 as the Titans' seventh runner.
Owen Bostwick (Jr. • Whitefish Bay),
Xavier Lasee (Grad. • North Fond du Lac),
Alex Bernhardt (So. • Appleton) and
Aaron Nehls (Fr. • Fredonia) finished 83rd, 84th, 85th, and 86th respectively. Bostwick set a new personal record of 26:29. Lasee finished in 26:45. Bernhardt set a new personal record of 26:46. Nehls finished in 26:47.
Zach Nelson (Sr. • Mount Horeb) finished in 88th place with a time of 27:17.
The Titans return next Thursday (Nov. 7
) for the Ripon College Red Hawk Open.
