OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team hosted its annual Alumni & Friends Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 18). The Titans faced off against alumni and Lawrence University (coached by Titan alumnus and member of the 2002 cross country national championship team Jason Fast). Legendary women's cross country and track & field coach Deb Vercauteren was the namesake of this year's meet.
The Titans swept the 400 meter dash, with
Weston Lerdal (Sr. • Neenah) winning in 51.04.
Jett Breed (So. • Oswego, Ill.) came in second with 51.49, and
Nick Vey (Sr. • Oshkosh) came in third with 54.16. The Titans also swept the 60 meter dash.
Davian Willems (Jr. • De Pere) won in 6.74 seconds.
Londyn Little (Sr. • Columbia, Ill.) took second with 6.81, and
Danny Vinson (Fy. • Berrien Springs, Mich.) took third in 6.86. The Titans swept their third event of the day in the 60 meter hurdles, with
Daniel Wilson (Fr. • Sun Prairie) taking the win in 8.38 seconds.
Christian Thompson (Fr. • Milwaukee) took second in 8.46, and
Brady Larson (Fr. • Maroa, Ill.) took third in 8.48.
In the 800 meters,
Alex Arndt (Fr. • Milwaukee) took second in 2:02.53.
Bennett Midthun (Fr. • Fond du Lac) took third in 2:04.08. The Titans proceeded to sweep the 200 meter dash, with
Nolan Milas (So. • Virgil, Ill.) winning in 22.32 seconds.
Jaylin Boatman (Sr. • Chicago, Ill.) took second in 22.41, and
Dylan Gramley (Jr. • Plainfield, Ill.) took third in 22.46.
In the field events,
Kyle Wisniewski (So. • New London) won the high jump with 2.01 meters.
Cameron McAndrews (Fr. • West Bend) took third with 1.81 meters.
Ethan Stukenberg (So. • Edwardsville, Ill.) won the pole vault in 4.30 meters, and
Owen Kuhne (Fr. • Madison) took second in 4.15 meters. The Titans swept the long jump, with Josh Rivers (Jr. • Bolingbrook, Ill.) winning in 7.74 meters.
Caleb Wright (Jr. • Oswego, Ill.) took second with 6.92 meters, and
Sochim Ozoh (Fr. • Homewood, Ill.) took third with 6.91 meters.
Max Milbrath (Fr. • Pecatonica, Ill.) won the triple jump with 13.81 meters.
The Titans also swept the weight throw and shot put.
Gavin Fritsch (Jr. • Little Chute) won the weight throw with 18.20 meters.
Bryce Hale (So. • Kimberly) took second with 17.38 meters, and
Steven Wauer (Jr. • Muskego) took third with 17.33 meters. In the shot put,
Jacob Fritsch (Jr. • Little Chute) won with 13.86 meters.
Jack Wellhoefer (Fr. • Omro) took second with 13.84 meters, and
Steven Wauer took third with 13.24 meters.
The Titans return next Saturday (Jan. 25) as they travel to UW-Whitewater for the Karl Schlender Invitational.
