APPLETON, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's cross country team took the win at the Gene Davis Invitational hosted by Lawrence University on Saturday (Oct. 11) with 36 team points.

The winning time was a 21:49 posted by Dasha Vorontsov of the Wisconsin Track Club.

Lehna Mitchell (Oshkosh/Oshkosh North) led the Titans in the win, finishing in sixth place. The freshman set a new personal record of 22:40.
Gwen Feitl (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South) finished right behind her in seventh, completing the course in 23:14.

Ashley Groothoff (Two Rivers/Two Rivers) was third for the Titans. She placed 16th in a time of 24:05 and
Allison VanDerWegen (Kaukauna/Kaukauna) finished in 24:16 for 18th place. The final point scorer for the Titans was
Josie Makurat (Fairfax, Va./Woodson), who placed 23rd in 24:38.

Ella Kojis (Waukesha/Waukesha South) and
Piper Johnson (Poynette/Poynette) were the Titans' next runners to cross the finish line, placing 26th and 27th respectively. Kojis ran her season debut in 24:56 and Johnson finished in 25:00.
Amari Siegfried (Menomonee Falls/Brookfield East) ran a personal record of 25:08, finishing in 30th.
Ella Galaszewski (West Allis/Nathan Hale) completed the course in 25:48, placing 37th and
Madeline Osmanski (Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) placed 43rd, running a personal record of 26:04.

Leah Modjeski (Sparta/Sparta),
Adriana Garcia (Green Bay/Green Bay East) and
Athena Soto (Whitewater/Whitewater) followed with personal bests of their own at 25:48, 26:34 and 26:37, respectively. Modjeski took 53rd, Garcia 55th and Soto 57th.

Anabel Mitchell (Oshkosh/Oshkosh North) finished right behind Soto in 58th, running a 26:42.
Rylee Hucke (Johnson Creek/Johnson Creek) placed 60th in 27:04 and Annie Jessie placed 62nd in 27:08 for a career best time.

The Titans return on Saturday, October 18, as they travel to Rock Island, Illinois to face off against some of the best teams the country in the Augustana College (Ill.) Interregional Invitational.
