ROCK ISLAND, Ill.- The UW-Oshkosh women's cross country team placed sixteenth at the Augustana College (Ill.) Interregional Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 18) by scoring 554 points.
UW-La Crosse, the sixth-ranked team in the nation, won the meet with 88 points. Jules Bleskoski of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (N.Y.) won the race by almost a full minute in a time of 20:47.
Lehna Mitchell (Oshkosh/Oshkosh North) led the Titans, finishing in 41st place with a time of 22:47.
Gwen Feitl (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South) was second for Oshkosh, placing 72nd and running a time of 23:12.
Emma Boegh (Berlin/Berlin) was third, running 23:41 for 128th place.
Ashley Groothoff (Two Rivers/Two Rivers) finished in 171st, running 24:09. The final point scorer for the Titans was
Josie Makurat (Fairfax, Va./Woodson), who finished in 189th with a time of 24:19.
The Titans' sixth runner was
Allison VanDerWegen (Kaukauna/Kaukauna), who finished in 202nd with a time of 24:25.
Piper Johnson (Poynette/Poynette) ran the course in 25 minutes, good for 252nd place.
Amari Siegfried (Menomonee Falls/Brookfield East) finished in 287th, running 25:29.
Ella Galaszewski (West Allis/Nathan Hale) completed the course in 25:51, finishing in 308th.
Ella Kojis (Waukesha/Waukesha South) finished in 328th, running a time of 26:26.
The Titans host their second meet of the year on Friday, October 24 at the XC Ranch in Oshkosh at 1:30 p.m.
