EAU CLAIRE, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's wrestling traveled to Eau Claire for the 8-Woman Battles on Saturday (Nov. 22) at UW-Eau Claire's McPhee Physical Education Center. The Titans earned five top-five finishes at the meet, highlighted by second-place days from
Isabel Paz (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) and May Delleree.

Paz placed second in the 103-pound gold bracket with 34 points. She won her first match by a 12-2 technical fall over Chelseas Beaver from Augsburg University (Minn.) before falling to Augustana College's (Ill.) Mia Vasquez in her second.
Myra Bair (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot), who finished third in the bracket, pinned Paz in 52 seconds before Hurley earned a 12-2 technical fall win over
Evelyn Hurley (Peshtigo/Peshtigo).

Bair earned additional wins of a 6-2 decision over Beaver and a 4:24 pin over Leslie Guzman from Illinois Wesleyan University in the bracket. Hurley defeated Beaver by a 12-2 technical fall and Guzman by a shutout technical fall.

Delleree competed in the 131-pound gold bracket, placing second with three wins by fall. She pinned UW-Stevens Point's Shaina Hyre in 1:16, Augsburg University's PaigeHaaf in 52 seconds, and Pointer Anna Delaney in 1:38.

At 180 pounds,
Ella Creighton (Lake Geneva/Badger) finished her day with three wins in four matches and a bye for fifth place. She pinned Stevens Point's Maddie Hall in 2:11 after going up 8-0, defeated Katie Whelan from Augsburg by a 6-3 decision, and earned a 15-4 technical fall win over Illinois Wesleyan's Jessica Stover.

Nellie Stagg (West Liberty, Iowa/West Liberty) placed ninth in the 145-pound gold bracket by pinning Kyla Smith from the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) in 5:16.

Natalie Gratschmayr (Greendale/Martin Luther),
Kaije Youngstrom (Crystal River, Fla./Crystal River), and
Haley Dezelske (Holmen/Holmen) also competed in the meet.

UWO is back on the mat on Saturday, December 6 at 9 a.m. for the Carthage College Classic in Kenosha.
