WHITEWATER, Wis.- On Friday and Saturday (Feb. 14-15), the UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team traveled to Whitewater for the Midwest Elite Invitational. The Titans finished in sixth place with 42 points. Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) won the meet with 175.5 points.
Brenna Masloroff (Fifth • Franklin) gave the Titans their first medal on Friday night, taking second in the weight throw with 18.27 meters. Masloroff came back on Saturday in the shot put, taking third with 13.24 meters. Continuing the Saturday action,
Megan Hunt (Sr. • Lemont, Ill.) finished second in the long jump with 5.89 meters. Hunt grabbed another medal, this time on the track, finishing third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.14 seconds.
Ella Galaszewski (Jr. • West Allis) earned her first medal of the season, running a new personal best of 11:36.89 in the 3,000-meter run for third place.
Others placing top eight in events included
Bobbi Blahnik (Sr. • Algoma), who took sixth in the Friday night weight throw at 15.84 meters. The Titans also had two more point scorers in the 3,000-meter run on Saturday.
Madeline Osmanski (Fr. • Algonquin, Ill.) finished in sixth place, running a personal best of 11:39.89.
Julia Strasser (Sr. • South Milwaukee) finished in seventh, running 12:15.78.
The Titans compete in the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge next Saturday (Feb. 22), which is their final home meet of the indoor season.
