OSHKOSH, Wis.- On Saturday (Feb. 22), the UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team hosted its final home meet of the indoor season, the Titan Challenge. The Titans faced off against many strong teams, including conference rival UW-Stevens Point.
Bennett Midthun (Fr. • Fond du Lac) was the first Titan to win a medal on the day, finishing second in the mile with a 4:26.37. The Titans proceeded to sweep the 400-meter dash, with
Londyn Little (Jr. • Columbia, Ill.) winning in 48.81 seconds.
Matthew Eiden (So. • Stevens Point) took second at 49.87 seconds and
Daniel Wilson (Fr. • Sun Prairie) took third at 49.93 seconds.
Brady Larson (Fr. • Maroa, Ill.) claimed gold in the 60 meter hurdles, finishing in 8.24 seconds.
Joey Kean (Fifth • Middleton) won the third straight event for the Titans, winning the 60-meter dash in 6.83 seconds.
Danny Vinson (Fifth • Berrien Spring, Mich.) took third at 6.86 seconds.
The Titans went on to sweep the 200-meter dash, with
Nolan Milas (So. • Virgil, Ill.) taking the win in 22.21 seconds.
Dylan Gramley (Jr. • Plainfield, Ill.) finished right behind him in second at 22.35 seconds and
Matthew Eiden claimed his second medal on the day, finishing in 22.43 seconds for third. The Titans 4x400-meter relay team defeated Stevens Point by 0.12 seconds, winning with a time of 3:25.47. The team consisted of
Jett Breed (So. • Oswego, Ill.),
Ryan Potter (Jr. • Oak Creek),
Nick Vey (Sr. • Oshkosh), and
Lucas Nicholson (So. • Pewaukee).
The Titans swept the high jump with
Caleb Cornelius (Sr. • Racine) taking the win, clearing 1.93 meters.
Kendrick Cyracus (Jr. • Plainfield, Ill.) and
Cameron McAndrews (Fr. • West Bend) tied for second, both clearing 1.88 meters.
Zach Zirgibel (Sr. • Merton) won the pole vault with a vault of 4.71 meters. The Titans grabbed two more medals in the long jump, with
Caleb Wright (Jr. • Oswego, Ill.) finishing in second with 7.17 meters.
Londyn Little grabbed his second medal on the day, jumping 7.03 meters for third place.
Gavin Fritsch (Jr. • Little Chute),
Steven Wauer (Jr. • Muskego), and
Bryce Hale (So. • Kimberly) swept the weight throw for the Titans. Fritsch won with 19.63 meters, Wauer took second with 18.24 meters, and Hale took third with 17.79 meters.
Cameron Bendixen (Jr. • Deforest) claimed bronze in the shot put, throwing 15.83 meters.
Next week, the Titans face off against the best teams in Wisconsin, as they are traveling to Stevens Point for the
WIAC Championship (presented by Culver's). The meet consists of all four of the top-four teams from last year's indoor national championship.
