OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team hosted the Titan Challenge, their final home meet of the indoor season on Saturday (Feb. 22). The Titans faced off against many strong teams, including Lawrence University, St. Norbert College, and UW-Stevens Point.
Jamie Catania (Jr. • Fond du Lac) got the Titans started on the track, winning the mile in 5:22.83.
Maddy LaVoi (So. • Ankeny, Iowa) kept the win streak going for the Titans, winning the 400-meter dash in 59.36 seconds.
Addie Baker (Fr. • Delavan) was right behind her in second with a 59.49.
Olivia Stenzel (Jr. • Sevastopol) won the 800-meter run with a new personal record of 2:14.10.
Cyna Madigan (Sr. • Rosendale) finished in third with 2:14.89. The 4x400-meter relay team of
Julia Steger (So. • Kewaskum), Stenzel, Madigan, and LaVoi claimed a gold medal for the Titans as well, winning the event in 3:58.60.
In the field,
Megan Hunt (Sr. • Lemont, Ill.) finished second in high jump, clearing the bar at 1.62 meters. The Titans grabbed the top two spots in the pole vault, with
Haley Kanitz (Jr. • Menominee Falls) clearing 3.36 meters for the win.
Emerson Clark (So. • Ladysmith) finished second, clearing 3.21 meters. Kanitz proceeded to win another medal, this time in the triple jump. She finished in second with 10.79 meters.
Brenna Masloroff (Fifth • Franklin),
Bobbi Blahnik (Sr. • Algoma), and
Abi Masloroff (So. • Franklin) all helped the Titans sweep in the weight throw. Brenna won with 18.01 meters, Blahnik took second with 16.11 meters, and Abi took third with 15.43 meters.
Brenna Masloroff also won the shot put with 13.83 meters.
The Titans travel to Stevens Point next week for the
WIAC Championship (presented by Culver's), where they will compete against some of the best teams in Wisconsin and the nation.
