STEVENS POINT, Wis.-Â The UW-Oshkosh men's track and field team competed in the second day of the WIAC Championship (presented by Culver's), hosted by UW-Stevens Point on Saturday (March 1). The
No. 2 nationally ranked Titans secured a second-place finish in the meet with 133.5 points. Top-ranked ranked UW-La Crosse won the meet with 217.5 points.
The Titans' heptathlon athletes secured two podium finishes after two days of competition.
Aden Sears (Sr. • Eureka, Ill.) claimed a silver medal, scoring 5,185 points.
Christian Thompson (Fr. • Milwaukee) finished in fifth with 4,761 points.
The Titans 60-meter hurdle finalists secured three more podium finishes.
Brady Larson (Fr. • Maroa, Ill.) grabbed the bronze medal with a time of 8.18 seconds.
Daniel Wilson (Fr. • Sun Prairie) placed fifth with a time of 8.24 seconds and
Cavan Dobberstein (So. • Manawa) placed eighth in 8.43 seconds.
The 60-meter dash finalists did not disappoint, as Saturday's event was the fastest 60-meter dash in Division IIIÂ history.
Davian Willems (Jr. • De Pere) set a new school record of 6.63 seconds in a second place finish to UW-La Crosse's Sam Blaskowski.
Londyn Little (Jr. • Columbia, Ill.) finished in fourth place in 6.83 seconds,
Danny Vinson (Fifth • Berrien Spring, Mich.) finished in fifth place with 6.87 seconds and
Joey Kean (Fifth • Middleton) finished in eighth place in 6.98 seconds.
Adding to the list of podium finishes was
Lucas Nicholson (So. • Pewaukee). Nicholson finished in fourth place in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:55.79.
Nolan Milas (So. • Virgil, Ill.) collected the Titans' first track win of the day, winning the 200-meter dash in 22.17 seconds.
Dylan Gramley (Jr. • Plainfield, Ill.) placed in the 200 as well, running 22.46 seconds for sixth place. The 4x400-meter relay team of
Matthew Eiden (So. • Stevens Point), Little, Wilson, and
Joshua Rivers (Jr. • Bolingbrook, Ill.) placed second with a time of 3:19.25.
The Titans also collected two individual wins in the field, with
Gavin Fritsch (Jr. • Little Chute) winning the weight throw with 19.76 meters and
Caleb Cornelius (Sr. • Racine) winning the high jump at 2.05 meters.
Bryce Hale (So. • Kimberly) and
Steven Wauer (Jr. • Muskego) made the podium in the weight throw as well. Hale threw 18.78 meters for second place and Wauer threw 17.88 meters for fourth place.
Kyle Wisniewski (So. • New London) placed seventh in the high jump with a jump of 2.00 meters.
Max Milbrath (Fr. • Pecatonica, Ill.) also got on the podium, this time in the triple jump with jump of 13.99 meters for eighth place.
The Titans return next week to one of three last chance meets before the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship. The Titans head to either La Crosse, Ripon, or Waverly, Iowa.
