Titans Set Facility Record And School Records At Final Qualifiers

Matthew Eiden was a member of the 4x400-meter relay squad that set the UW-Oshkosh record in La Crosse

Ripon, Wis./La Crosse, Wis.- On Saturday (March 8), the UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team competed at two last chance meets hosted by UW-La Crosse and Ripon College.
 
The Titans' started off hot in La Crosse, as Brady Larson (Fr. • Maroa, Ill.) finished the 60-meter hurdles with a performance of 8.26 seconds. The 60-meter dash followed with a blistering performance and personal best finish from Eddie Jones (Fr. • Waukesha), who finished second in 6.78 seconds. Jones' time puts him in a tie for third in UW-Oshkosh history in the event. Danny Vinson (Fifth • Berrien Spring, Mich.) ran 6.84 seconds in the same event. 
 
The meet continued in the 800-meter run where Lucas Nicholson (So. • Pewaukee) finished with a time of 1:56.07. In the 200-meter dash, Tray Janssen (Fr. • De Pere) ran to a time of 22.52 seconds. In the high jump, Caleb Cornelius (Sr. • Racine) won the meet while securing a facility and meet record with a jump of 2.10 meters. This was followed by Christian Thompson (Fr. • Milwaukee) who had a jump of 1.98 meters. Additionally in the jumps, Londyn Little (Sr. Columbia, Ill.) finished third in the long jump with a mark of 7.15 meters.
 
Over at Ripon in the weight throw, Gavin Fritsch (Jr. • Little Chute) was the victor with a personal best throw of 19.81 meters. Fritsch's mark moves him into a tie for third in program history in the event. Steven Wauer (Jr. • Muskego) threw 17.26 meters followed by Bryce Hale (So. • Kimberly) who threw 17.21 meters. In the shot put, Kieran Maude (Jr. • Palatine, Ill) led the Titans throwing a season best mark of 16.08 meters followed by Cameron Bendixen (Jr. • DeForest) who threw 15.36 meters.
 
Back in La Crosse, the 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Matthew Eiden (So • Stevens Point), Joshua Rivers (Jr. • Bolingbrook, Ill.), Weston Lerdal (Sr. • Neenah), and Little, finished second at the meet while also breaking the indoor 200-meter flat track school record for the event with a time of 3:15.54. 
 
The Titans take on Rochester, New York next week where they will compete at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Championship. The NCAA will announce the final qualifier list on Sunday evening, March 9.
