HASTINGS, Minn.-Â The UW-Oshkosh women's golf team competed at the Gustie Spring Invite hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on Saturday and Sunday (April 12-13)Â at Emerald Greens Golf Course. The Titans placed eighth out of the eleven teams, shooting 692 strokes.
The Titans shot a 356 (68-over par) on the first day and reduced that to 336 (48-over par) on the second day. Macalester College won the meet, shooting 635 strokes (59-over par) over the two meet.
Taryn Endres (Jr. • Windsor) led the Titans, shooting 164 (21-over par) for 14th place. After shooting an 86 (14-over par) in the first round, Endres shot only 79 strokes on Sunday (seven-over par) in the second round.
Finishing in 19th place was
Hailey Matenaer (Jr. • West Bend), who finished with 167 strokes (23-over par). Matenaer shot an 84 in the first round, and an 83 in the second.
Sydney Bornhorst (Sr. • Grayslake, Ill.) was third for the Titans, shooting 172 strokes (28-over par) for 33rd place. After shooting a 90 in the first round (18-over par), Bornhorst shot an 82 (10-over par) in the second.
The final scorer for the Titans was
Josie Hofer (Sr. • Menominee, Mich.). Hofer placed 59th, shooting 188 strokes (44-over par). Hofer shot a 96 (24-over par) in the first round and a 92 (20-over par) in the second.
Oshkosh's fifth golfer was
Chloe Strunk (Fr. • Waukesha), who shot 214 strokes (70-over par) for 66th place. Strunk shot 37-over par (109 strokes) in the first round and 33-over (105) in the second round.
The Titans return to the course in two weeks as they head to Rock Island, Illinois for the Augustana College Viking Invitational. The Titans will play on Highland Springs Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27 to conclude their spring season.
