NORMAL, Ill.- UW-Oshkosh women's golf traveled south Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 19-20), as the Titans went to Ironwood Golf Course to compete in the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic. As a team, Oshkosh finished 18th, shooting 664 strokes (88-over par) across both days.
The individual title ended in a three-way tie, with Daisy Williams of DePauw (Ind.), Lauren Paige Slatton of Rose Hulman (Ind.), and Natalie Ocheltree of Illinois Wesleyan all finishing one under par across both days. Illinois Wesleyan secured the team title for the second-straight year with 589 strokes (13-over).
Sophia Eggert (Shawano/Shawano Community) finished the first round 11-over with a score of 83, accounting for 12 bogeys and a birdie on hole six. Day two saw Eggert swing for seven bogeys and two double bogeys, as she matched her day one score towards a tie for 70th place.
After leading the Titans during the Division III Classic, Addy Horne (Sheboygan Falls/Kohler) finished the opening round 11-over (83) with 6 bogeys, a double bogey, and a triple bogey. Horne scored two birdies on holes four and 16 during day two but finished the second round 13-over (85), tallying five bogeys and five double bogeys in a tie for 79th place.
The final of four birdies accomplished by the Titans was from Rylie Severson (Green Bay/Ashwaubenon), as she scored one on hole 18 during the first round, and finished day one with six bogeys and three double bogeys, in an 11-over (83) finish. Severson ended the competition in a tie for 88th after shooting 14-over (86) round, accruing eight bogeys and three double bogeys onto her scorecard during day two.
Chloe Young (Waukesha/Bay Port) bounced back from a 19-over (91), 7 bogey, and 6 double bogey finish in the opening round, only shooting five over (77) on day two, including five bogeys, to tie for 79th place.
Ava Fahrenholz (West Bend/Slinger) concluded day one 14-over, shooting an 86, including 7 bogeys, 2 double bogeys, and a triple bogey. Day two for Fahrenholz resulted in a 12-over (84) round, with six bogeys and three double bogeys, placing her in a tie for 91st.
Ciara Clark (Mukwonago/Mukwonago) shot 25-over (97) on day one and 23-over (95) on day two for a 125th place tie. Across the two days, Clark accumulated 16 bogeys, eight double bogeys, and four triple bogeys.
Oshkosh is back on the course Friday and Saturday (Sept. 25-26) when the team heads to Kansasville for the Benedictine University (Ill.) Midwest Region Classic. The two-day event will take place at Brighton Dale Links.
